We finally made it to the ambitious Resident Evil Outbreak. This was a project done by Production Studio 1 for Capcom that started small with a multiplayer mini game idea that then grew into it’s own thing. This is easily the most complicated and unique RE game I’ve played so far. The timeline takes place during the Raccoon city outbreak and you can choose between a bunch of characters all with their own abilities and perks. This can range from blocking and playing dead to crafting weapons and picking locks. That already sounds insane but there is way more to this. Each level feels like it’s own game with it’s set of puzzles, location and scenario. Sometimes you’ll be chased and mostly you’ll feel lost. The game was designed with online multiplayer in mind where you can work together to finish the levels and create team compositions and work with every characters strengths. You can clearly see this as a passion project with a lot of creative control. The downside is obviously if you play this solo offline, especially on a first playthrough without a guide where everything is so overwhelming. The AI is pretty terrible and I would imagine playing online without being able to use your mic would be frustrating as well. This is part 1 of 2 of our playthrough.

If you take the injured cop from the start to the top of the bar rooftop. You'll see a cut scene of him shooting himself before he becomes infected.
There's a few hidden cut scenes depending what actions you take
I really love this game, it just feels unique. I just wish the second game was one package with the first game. I love the new features added into the second game but love the first games levels more.
