  1. Though I'm cautious with 3DRealms, I was kind of excited for Phantom Fury, a more Half-Life inspired title which is more my jam than more standard Quake/Doom inspired fps games that have been more predominant lately.
Though Amid Evil DLC is something I'm also looking forward to, Compound Fracture had a great trailer, and I tried Fortune's Run demo which was a very pleasant surprise. And I did decide to download the CTRL ALT EGO demo since they were showing it in Realms Deep, was actually pretty good, bought!

I wish ADACA had made it to the event (the Steam event, I get that maybe not into the event itself as it did release already this year). Deserves more attention.

Nothing about System Shock remake, I was hoping they'd at least update the demo since they had an updated demo in that latest live event that Nightdive was at, also they meant to update the demo since last September according to a steam news post :/

Still, the number 1 on my wishlist rank remains Selaco.

  2. Fortunes Run demo was the best thing to come out of the show by far for me. A beautifully crafted immersive sim with awesome combat. The demo level lasts over an hour and I already have 14 hours just replaying it because you can be that creative. Definetly worth checking out.

  3. Considering New Blood, I don’t remember seeing the Release Date trailer for FAITH in their segment at all. Considering the other non FPS genre games shown and how the trailer dropped just a few days after the show, it feels like a bit of an outlier.

  4. I'm honestly surprised there was no news on Selaco, Deadcore or a release date for Black Labyrinth.

I know it's not within their perview but I'm also slightly disappointed we have no new footage on Warhammer 40k Boltgun, after becoming a massive lorewhore on 40k over the past year I'm super looking forward to it but the Prodeus full release today should definitely help hold me over.

  5. Am I the only annoyed that 90% & + of boomer shooter are now just early access uncompleted games? I didn't count but I am sure that more than 95% of all the games presented are either not released with no date OR they announce a date but it is for a freaking early access!

  6. I made the mistake of googling "Compound Fracture" instead of "Compound Fracture Game"… Don't do it guys.
Anyway, very nice work and I'm looking forward to a lot of these games. Thanks for the recap!

  7. This year's show felt a lot more focused than last year's one, which seemed to just spiral out of control and did not bloody end! Phantom Fury was a nice surprise, and Hyperstrange have gone from obscure "who are these people?" into one of the most interesting publishers out there.
While it has been becoming more of a thing year in, year out for Realms Deep, it seems we are now deep into the ImSim land and after about 2 decades of the style being ignored, I'm happy people are digging up that grave.

  8. Awesome vid.
Thanks for mentioning Kingpin Reload. I really want that project to finish! Such an awesome game that would benefit from a remaster.
I did not know about Phantom Fury either. Ion Fury was one of the best boomer shooters I've played.

  9. Awesome video, I would be completely lost . Thanks man !
Overall I feel this years Realms Deep was disappointing. I was hoping for a major surprise such as maybe Wrath being finished or some news on the game I am most interested in, Core Decay. I own the Graven EA , it’s nice to get an update because I thought it was dead. It still seems very unfinished with lots of potential but I doubt it’ll go much further judging from how its been meandering along so far. All the other stuff isexiting ideas but nothing seems to ever get finished and I think finishing games is much more difficult than coming up with cool ideas.
Dread Templar is a safe bet though, that one looks like it will actually get finished and it is very fun already, I especially like the level design in that one.

  10. Whoa, Phantom Fury is a huge surprise. A full blown sequel to Ion Fury? Sign me up…if it actually comes out.

As for Wrath, I’m not holding my breath. But I definitely will get Prodeus. I’ve been dying to get it’s final release.

And I really hope Compound Fracture gets completed. That really speaks to my childhood playing the PS1.

  11. I wish the developers of the original Ion Fury were also making Phantom Fury. It doesn't seem like they are; But, I might be wrong, and that team is in the dev team for Phantom Fury too.
It looks awesome. Its combination with SiN was a massive surprise and I love that.
The highlights for me were Labyrinth of the Demon King and Phantom Fury. Of course, meaning the show itself, rather than the demos that came out. The demos were easily the best part; Fortune's Run was an absolute masterpiece.

Diluvian Ultra was really unique, I love its art and gameplay. The level design was also super interesting for me.
Hyperviolent looks delightfully, properly retro. I think the sprites still look worse than old titles, but everything else looks truly retro and rather unique.
Sprawl has been looking a bit rough for me, though it looks a lot better now; The gameplay looks insanely tight now.
Compound Fracture looks awesome, my only complaint is that weapon sounds are weaker than the games it takes inspiration from.
Deadlink was incredible. Got addicted to it in a few weeks.
Retrovibe's lineup is all up my alley. I personally felt like the level design for Project Warlock 2's should have maintained their size and just been better designed. I prefer having more open, large and sprawling levels that are well designed over smaller ones, but that's my inner Metroidvania and Immersive Sim maniac speaking.
Tokyo Underground Killer looks like an awesome game, but the visuals are kind of bad, disappointing given the aesthetics it is going for is what I love most.

  12. Oh yeah and something else fantastic about Prodeus is that Anton who's the lead dev for the game Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand-grenades did a fun little crossover! He was able to design one of the revolvers during their kick starter days and as a fun little celebration for the game's release it's now in his game! It's huge, shoots 666. ammo and the effects look fantastic translated into the VR gem he's been able to support over the years.

  13. I finished first act of Project Warlock 2, and my main 2 complaints were these:
    – level size (too big and convoluted)
    – later levels in some moments felt empty and unfinished.
Im really glad they addressed these problems. Cant wait to play it again, along with new content from act 2.
