  1. I believe the letter did not have to specifically say Gaby’s name. The fact that Roberta wrote this letter shows what kind of mindset and freak relationship between this mother/son is. It also shows that Roberta wanted to be sure that Brian knew, after killing Gaby (or anyone), she would do all of these things. And accept anything Brian did/would do. Even if it means covering up anything.

  2. Roberta’s letter is so incriminating. Given the circumstances at the time Brian was going through, her letter was trying to provide comfort to her son. The words she chose to describe her love & loyalty stating his criminal activity. This implies past events, and acknowledgement that he did something terrible. In this case, the Petitos should subpoena all phone, text and financial records from the Laundry household to show they were abetting him on the run to solidify the plaintiff’s case. There is so much suspicion with the actions of the Laundry household that needs to be investigated…”Burn after Reading” can only imply “Destroy this Evidence”. A monster raising a Monster…

  3. I think she wrote this after the murder. Even if there was a book burn after writing…why say burn after reading if it's simply displaying a mother's love and who would bring cake blades and shovels along to describe one's love? Nope. She knew and she's begging her son not to kill himself imo. I feel bad for her in a sense that she lost her son too. The whole situation is sad. Too bad they don't make manuals on what to do if your son kills someone. I'm sure she did love him but murder is murder and she screwed up. But I'm sure she was dying inside too. However the Petitos were losing their minds so she was wrong in her behavior.

  4. Why is everyone forgetting that Brian read books about serial killers a fascination that a lot of folks have, I could see a mother writing her son a letter who was about to embark on a journey with his girlfriend camping for months…just wanting her son to know that no matter what happened she’d be there for him, and burn this after reading, using dark language jokingly referencing the books he was into, as a way to connect with him, vs a sinister plot in the death of gabby. Or if it was written in desperation when he left for the reserve depressed and suicidal it was to assure him that whatever happened she would help him, and to not end his life. That he didn’t burn after reading shows the letter had nothing to do with gabby, otherwise he would have.

  6. The "Burn After Opening". deserves comment too! The statement actually, in my opinion, reflects the reality that she wrote it after Gabby was dead. Otherwise, why the need to burn it at all. She clearly is telling him to run? It's possible they staged his suicide even though they did genetic testing.

  7. Of course they knew SOMETHING. He had her vehicle and she didn’t return with him.
They should have answered Gabby’s parents texts and phone calls and drove their son to the police station with a lawyer so that maybe he would still be alive.
Although, i do realize that in reality, many people think Brian’s self murder is a good thing. I can’t believe Mr and Mrs Laundrie agree.
Turning him in would have saved his life.

  8. My son told me he was gonna shoot his ex.

I called 911 and reported everything. I deeply dislike his ex but murder is way outside of what I can just listen to. He got mad at me for betraying him…but don't text me something like that and expect me to not do anything.

  9. Brian’s mom reminds me a lot of Cindy Watts. Cindy had a lot to do with Chris killing his family. Brian’s mom had a lot to do with Brian killing Gabby. Neither mom has any empathy for the victims of the crimes. Only empathy for guilty sons

  10. One little detail I picked up on should be emphasized at trial. Roberta said "Even if you're in jail" not "if you WERE in jail". This indicates the anticipation at that time that he will go to jail or likely will.

  11. When I saw Gabby's family all standing together I immediately thought of how they had all expected to be standing together at a wedding, not a murder case. As a mother of two sons that I am very close to I don't even think I would think of writing a letter like that, and I am known to be a sappy "I love you always and forever" letter writing mom, and if I did I think my sons would be creeped out and even insulted. They'd be like "Geez mom, who do you think I am?" One thought that makes me think that there is some truth to it being a series of metaphors and inside references is the fact that he didn't actually burn it. You could argue that he knew it was not to be taken literally. Not saying I necessarily believe that, but it is a thought.

  12. Mom knew B and G had a bad bad relationship (they lived with her)and/or the cross country trip was to fix B n G relationship. The trip was a make it or break it. If Brian had the letter on the trip and G found it, G probably would rip it up
