Howdy! It’s your boy Gracchus to close another gap! So, I wanted to talk about Bob Dylan. Let’s face it, the man’s a genius songwriter. Unfortunately, he does not get nearly the amount of love he deserves by your fans. However, I need to call out Guy Whitey Corngood who submitted Dylan’s outstanding live “Shelter from the Storm” for you to react to. It was really amazing, and I very much appreciated that he shared it with you all (and yes, Suzi, Dylan does look like Adam Sandler). Also, your fan Them G, who consistently demonstrates good taste with their submissions, was no slouch with their request for your excellent reaction video (with Jon, whom I just adore!) of Guns ‘n’’ Rose’s live cover of Dylan’s Knocking on Heaven’s Door. So what’s the gap I’m trying to fill? Well, it’s a personal one: I fell in love with this little known band, The Jenerators, that features Miguel Ferrer on vocals. You probably have no idea who Miguel Ferrer is, and that’s all right. In addition to being a singer, he’s a great character actor best known for his portrayal of Assistant Director Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles as well as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield from the 90s TV show Twin Peaks. Anyway, their cover of Knocking on Heaven’s Door is my absolute favorite! Unfortunately, Miguel Ferrer passed away in 2017 at the age of 61 from esophageal cancer. In the first episode of NCIS: Los Angeles that was recorded after his death, they played this very track as part of the soundtrack where they resolve the fate of his character, Owen Granger. Hey, thank you for both letting me scratch my Bob Dylan itch and for letting me pay a small tribute to a great singer and character actor.

"Danger Will Robinson! Danger!" Billy Mumy is also in the band. You might know Billy as the little kid in the classic Twilight Zone 1961 TV episode "It's a Good Life", where he has omnificent powers and makes people disappear with a wave of his hand. And he was Will in the original Lost in Space series from the '60s.
