Ranking My DPR Builds #3

The time has come once again to rank my sustained DPR videos! The spreadsheets have gotten too crowded! And this time, I finally split out the AOE builds from the single-target. If you’re new to the channel, come see what old builds you might have missed. If you’re not, come take a walk down memory lane with me :).

  1. Random question on a bladesinger's level 6 feature were you can substitute one attack for a cantrip. This cantrip i am assuming has to be a touch? or BBlade/GFB? example I am assuming I cant cast toll of the dead or firebolt as cantrip because if i did it would be at disadvantage because I am in melee????

  2. I know this will probably get burried but going through some spells I came upon Bigby's Hand and saw it does 4d8 on a bonus action and has hitpoints equal to your maximum hp. Instantly I started wondering how high you could get that number and I would be curious to see your take on someone who almost excusively fights with a big spectral hand. Call it… The Magical Manhandler!

  3. If you build another Bloodhunter I'd love to see something that goes bananas with "battle mode" effects like Rage, Lycan Transformation, Aasimar Radiant Soul, Moon Druid Wildshape, maybe even Form of Dread. A character that just totally hulks out when a fight comes along sounds cool

  4. My favourite build so far is actually the artificer (armorer) tank, with a cleric level and some wizard levels mixed in. Lots of utility, lots of fun. Stuff that I would definately have missed if I built it myself. Thank you Colby!

  5. Here's two challenging ideas I'm not even sure if they would be viable. First, a cantrip master… Get as many cantrips as possible and make them as powerful as possible. The second idea is a force mage or sorcerer. That might even include warlock because Eldritch blast is force damage.

  6. 26:16 the reason people complain about moon druid's plateau isn't that they're not effective – they're full casters after all. Rather the problem is that at high levels you're pretty much giving up the unique fantasy of that subclass and kinda just becoming a druid of the land with fewer spells because the forms become so ineffective

  7. While I agree putting multi-target in its own category makes sense, I don't think calling it tier 5 is fair. On average, single target is better, but not always and certainly not consistently worse than t4.

  8. Do You want a REALLY cool idea? It would be great if people shared their experiences playing your builds. Just run a poll plus open comments and make a video about it? Or have you already done something like this? It would be nice to know whitch builds were fun to play.

  9. I play a character inspiered by your fey wanderer Leonin for my first real dnd campain. Its a Pirate- like campain so I play him a bit with a Peter Pan Character. Its so much fun. And he does so much dmg. Its so much fun. thank you for this build!

  10. I love the channel, and have rewatched many of these builds multiple times. I'd love to see you do a series where you optimize each race/lineage. What is your quintessential halfling? minotaur? tiefling? Might be fun to see before the official changes to all lineages roll out.

  11. I would like you to do builds based on epic fantasy or comic tropes. Not based and locked to an entires characters appearance, traits and powers but to one inspiring trait or power. You already do this.

Stuff like: nightcrawler teleport, iron man armour, throwing playing cards as damage?, smiting with barstools, actually using a lance or two etc. Some you have done.

There are lots of cracy cool fantasy and comic tropes to take inspiration from. Because evocative and inspiring builds that forces you to be creative is fun. Another eldritch blast spamming sorlock or bladesinger arent always. But i can take a bladesinger 3.0 soon. Or a Bladesinger One if you hate saying editions.

  12. 😮 I've always had the idea of making some sort of Zeus build where I can hover in the air and throw Javalins at people from above and these videos give me so much inspiration. TY for your awesome videos!

  13. I’d love to see a master duelist build. By this I mean a swordsman who doesn’t use much magic, but is able to use their sheer skill (and a rapier, possibly paired with a dagger) to keep up. Thinking maybe Swashbuckler/Battlemaster.

  14. I've always been surprised that the barbarian is so absent from many of these builds. if you take the Hexadin as an example the barbarian is virtually the same build without jumping through hoops to get advantage. I'll grant the PM warlock does end up with 1 more damage per hit but also loses an action every combat casting their darnkess/moil where the barb goes right into it with just a bonus action. I'm wondering if you have thoughts on it. Using the zealot as a base you can make up the difference of hexblade curse easily in a far more sustainable chassis. I know the zealot wasn't out when you made that build but maybe you'd like to address this someday. I feel that so many people look at the abilities gained each level and forget the innate scaling of the barbarian that is subtle but present.
