My 2nd time racing the Bartje200, a 200km Mountain bike race in North-East Netherlands. This was my 3rd MTB race ever! Last year I had to start in the back of the Race and passed 400 riders to catch the front. This year it was all different because I started in the front, Or WASN’T IT???
The race was really though with 200km of single track, trails and farm roads.

  9. Those MTB Racevideos are awesome, love it. I saw some dudes on gravel bikes, do you think gravel bikes are suitable for this race? The high grass and sand looks tough for gravel tires.

  11. One half of me chuckles on a mountain bike race without mountains and can‘t believe how flat a county can be. I did more meters of elevation last Saturday on my 35km easy spin and I tried to go as flat as possible. The other half wants to do that race because it seems super well organised and it suits myself much more than the mountains I have here.

  13. Would have won on a Gravel.

    Probably should have stopped when first possible and clear the bigger parts out, always gives you some Watts and won't have an influence on destroying more. But in a Race at your Max HR chasing it's hard to make such a choice. Instinct takes over

  30. 6 min rust is ook wat waard. Effe zijn ketting fixen. Nou voor mij was het klaar geweest. Dat is 1 ding dat zeker is. 🤣Ongelooflijk gemiddelde. Die 7e plaats is op zn minst toch eigenlijk 3e. Mooie prestatie weer.

  33. Hi Jasper, I had a similar grass issue in a race that cost me 3rd place (finished 4th). Now I always carry a very sharp Opinel folding knife in my top tube bag. They are very light and I have it inside a piece of old inner tube. I have my gels in a squeezy flask (Decathlon), I think they are made for walkers to put drink in. You can put four gels (SIS size) in there, probably five your size. Means you don’t have to mess with tearing off gels in the race and can have as little or as much as you want each time. Might help in the future! Great vid, looks like a blast! Thanks!
