The Azores Islands are a Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I visited in December of 2022 to run the 60k EPIC Azores trail race on Sao Miguel Island where I’d end up having to battle some pretty tough conditions. I then stayed for two weeks to soak in as much as I could of all the Islands have to offer, including its rugged coastlines, green pastures, lake-filled calderas, and local cuisine.

Again, a great film. Particularly loved the way it's based more around the people you met and ran with as it as about the race. And the beautiful islands of course also. Yourself and Ryan Van Duzer make my favourite films. Great work dude
Great vídeo Jeff. Gradulations
Another great film, this time about a place i love!
Since my first visit to Azores, i keep going back, lost the count of the dozens of times already. For trail races and camps, other times just to enjoy what those islands have to offer, people, food, etc. It’s a pearl in the middle of Atlantic, and every island is unique.
The weather, well, embrace it as part of Azores experience.
If you like those non-human steps, in MIUT (Madeira) they come in all sizes and shapes 😈.
See you maybe in Hardrock! (Someone whispered it to my hear😄)
Jeff, this is one of my favorite videos you've put together. I learned about an area and culture I didn't realize existed, and it's beautiful! Thanks for putting these together on your runs. I enjoy watching them.
Man, that was an Epic video for an Epic race!
It was totally worth the wait!
Taking the 360 camera to the race was a great choice for the footage.
Thank you for sharing this adventure! 🤩
Jeff does it again!! #homerun
This video deserves to be on Netflix or the Travel Channel! Crazy course and too bad you missed that turn, but still, I love your positive attitude and outlook. Such a neat area! Thank you for sharing this with us.
It was a great pleasure and an inspirational boost watching your new video (as always). Sorry for the diskwalification after racing under such difficult circumstances and what a daring descent of these enormous 'stairs'!
Really enjoyed watching this one. Such lush forests they have at Azores. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.
Another great video Jeff these islands look like something from Jurassic park very cool 😎
Oh my gosh!! Why do you have me wanting to travel nonstop? Beautiful film and location
Such gorgeous landscape!
Thanks to your superb video I could return to the race again. I had the same problem with missing part of the race and disqualification. Like you, I was laffing during the race about the weather🤣 (what an idiot I am to run in this condition).
At least the DQ came in the SG🤷
The best.
Well you’ve nailed it again Jeff, another incredible film thank you! .. and a heck of an exciting race! The Azores are stunning and Joao what a guy! Such a great film. Thanks again.
Really enjoyed this film! What a beautiful place!!
Thank you for making this video. I have been traveling Spain and Portugal for the last 2 years, and planning to find some trails to run in Madeira and Azores in 2024.
Another amazing adventure you have taken us with you! Thanks for sharing Jeff! Definitely a place for the bucket list.
Incredible video as always! Such beautiful scenery
Outstanding as always, Jeff. Looking forward to the Tetons video next 😀😀
Oh and usually in March they have rally racin in sao miguel ( not sure when it is for the other islands) but thats free also you just watch it from the side of the dirt roads.
Thanks for taking us there! I had no idea how beautiful the Azores are! 😍 Weather was really a challange! Sorry about the missed loop, can happen if there is no info on the path and no one to follow, right?
Wow another great film! Congrats. I had already looked into tourist info to visit Azores but none of that shows how incredible are these places as you've done!
Amazing film Jeff!!
Another great film, Jeff. Great adventure, even with all that mud!
shhhhhh stop spreading the magic of the azores to the masses……..
Wooow! What a place! Will have to visit, definitely. Thanks Jeff for such a great film.
It is so funny when even in a day where you are wet to the bone, you start the race skipping/jumping puddles and finish it just crossing rivers right through 😂. The human mind is amazing 😂
Congrats Jeff! Amazing work! An outdoors paradise. Can’t wait to visit Azores!
Does Joao do running tours? 😁
Nice video Jeff.
Loved this film! Especially hearing about João’s story, thanks Jeff.
Wow I really wonder how your knees did not break with this insane decent in the steps section 😮 ,great Video as always!
I always look forward to your videos. Pure magic! I could feel the pounding winds, the mud, and rain. Absolutely stunning.
inspirational!
Amazing video. Only one thing, in the beginning the music was flamengo (spanish music) not portuguese music. I think Jeff was aiming to fado music. Overall the video was perfect.
Really like learning about these islands
Beautiful film Jeff!
Thank you for all your effort and sharing your journey with us! Me and my wife look forward to every video 😁👍
Man that looked like such a muddy, slippery, windy, but type 2 fun course lol. Unfortunate about the missed turn, but a great experience I am sure.
And again! A nice video to watch. Thx Jeff
Awesome video (again)!!! Such a nice way to capture the beauty of those islands. @jeff: where do you keep your X3 and the stick? I am using the same setup (incl ADV Skin 12) and struggle to find an easy accessible yet comfortable place to store it
These stairs must be brutal after 100k
Thank you Jeff. I felt like I was there. What a beautiful place!
Loved the video but… Can we stop putting those "spanish/latino" sounds on things related to the Azores. The Azores in climate is closer to Ireland then South of Spain and the sounds of the Azores are more melancolic then anything else, perfect "modern" song to capture the Azores is "Ilhas de Bruma".
Putting that aside, top production/video. This should be on travel channels and you did your homework. And damn, you fased really hard obstacles.
that trophy room is massive wtf
