  7. I lived on a street that had a beach on the end. I was the third house off the end. The wind would blow snow across the lake forming huge drifts at the end of the street. For some reason people like to drive in massive snow storms and drive into the the drifts and get stuck. When a car would drive by I would shut my lights off. This was before cell phones and people always thought it would be no problem to come to my house use my phone and wait in my house for a tow truck. The police station was on the corner of my street so they could walk there and wait for a tow truck.

    (Don't mind me, I'm just making a dumb joke. The last time it snowed where I live was in 2002 and before that was 1976. Both times it was just a few inches.)

Story 1- What OP fails to mention there is that the Australian government provided an extra $550 per fortnight to eligible people as a supplement the amount of money that people were getting paid on unemployment benefits. Also, there had been a rent freeze put in place, so a landlord trying to increase rent were definitely breaking the law, nor could they evict someone during the person for six months. Not to mention evicting someone is difficult in Australia since you can fight the eviction in the tribunal, which in that Witches case would have been immediately bad for her by her demand for cash and telling OP to stop getting rental assistance. Also OP should have reported her invasions to police and tribunals.
    Edit to add, while it wasnt called a rent freeze, it was frowned on and discouraged to increase it.

  10. Charities – I call them my tax bank. Why, because if you donate enough over the course of a year you can pretty much neutralize your tax payment, infact, any tax taken out of your wages ends up back in your pocket due to the deduction from paying into a charity. Corporations do it all the time, honestly while I think its a good thing that they do it, they shouldnt be asking their customers if they want to round up the the nearest $ when you have already given enough money to them.
