A masterpiece of an episode, and shockingly somber for this show. I was in tears during the end when I watched this as a kid.

I kinda like that topographical copyright overlay. Also, Shattermaster is such a great dragon and that final scene always chokes me up a bit.
My secound favourite episode.
One of the best death scenes in httyd….(not going to say whether he's alive or not, since you know) this also was probably a reference to snotlouts death in the books, where he flies at the attackers, and dies. With there being a storm/rain a few minutes later.
A hard hitting episode. When I first watched this episode, my mouth hit the floor when they showed the dagger sinking, because that's when I realized what had happened.

Good guessing that it was a Gronckle yep definitely not the dragon Dagur was expecting 😂 and perhaps Fishlegs the better teacher because he has a gronckle as well 🐲

One moment he visited the Edge to find Heather but eventually sacrificed for her to gain everyone's trust especially Heather's at the end. Truly a remarkable episode thus far!

Probably the last episode that i remember seeing.
Watch it without seeing dagur redemption so i was very confused.
I think i may know SPOILER that he didnt die but i dont know if his dragon did die.
This episode is one of my favorites, I remember tearing up on the ending although it'll get even better
I'm pretty excited for the final episode it's been a while since I last saw it
This show is not afraid of almost anything and it shows that, one of the things that make it so damn perfect
This episode was insane. First off, the idea that Dagur would ride a dragon and a Gronckle of all dragons was not something I would have expected to see back in the Riders/Defenders of Berk series. Also seeing him act chummy with the other riders (well some of them) was really wholesome.
Also, that ending with heather reading the letter form Dagur before crying in the rain, top 5 episode ending in this series!
It's stuff like this why so many HTTYD fans love Race to the Edge.
Dagur's sacrifice brought me genuine sadness and distraught.
Little less serious, they cloned Snotlout, he's with Heather on mission and also with crew when they found Dagur (at 4:29)
This episode is so sad honestly. Dagur's sacrifice is such an amazing moment, it's definitely one of my favorite episodes throughout all 6 seasons. It also shows one last time that, despite all of Dagur's goofiness, he was a good, skilled strategist. Loved your reaction, his sacrifice was really sad

I remember i was trying not to cry this episode because my mom was watching me and i had to go through physical pain to not let the tears out😅
When heather said I'll split the father killer in two,it was really funny and scary at the same time it was a really clever dialog i loved it.
I love how everyone but the twins and snoutlout know what hiccup and astrid feel for each other daugr just said I'm trying to nock some since to YOUR BOY and even other villains point it out sometimes but these three never really realized it🤣
Easily one of the best episodes of the series!

I personally would have preferred if they ended Dagur's arc here. Not only is it a warrior's death but it is a brother's sacrifice.

The music that plays during Dagur's sacrifice is only very slightly different from the music that plays during Stoick's viking funeral in the second movie. The general melody is largely the same I've noticed, it may be in a slightly different key
