  1. Is it the stupid signs or the stupid people? Some idiots still won't slow down even if the sign was a mile back. The curve wasn't put there recently. Plus people still not wearing seatbelts?

  2. Lot of teens use this road as a racetrack regardless of day or night. And worst of all, anyone who drives on cross island parkway regularly would notice the frequent smell of marijuana in the air.

  3. Rumble strips. Check out where 135 n/b ends at Jericho Tpke in Woodbury. If you're not getting off on the e/b exit, the highway just ENDS and you got a pretty tight loop to get onto Jericho w/b. Right before, a series of rumble-strips gives you very clear indication to wake tf up and notice what's happening. But even with that, flashing lights, those 40 oversized '<' signs warning you, etc., people will be stoopit and just ignore everything, then blame everyone else when they wreck.

  4. I have traveled through that stretch of highway hundreds of times over the years and especially in bad weather it is dangerous if you don't follow the recommended 25 mph speed. Years ago with older cars with outdated tires, suspension and steering systems it was even worse. Modern cars can go a bit faster but there's not much margin for error.

  5. As someone who’s traveled all over NYC, this is more of people not paying attention, driving fast in wet weather, and having bald tires on their car. If you really think this curve is dangerous, you haven’t driven enough.
