  1. I think Queen Margrethe will regret rescinding the titles for her 4 grandchildren and keeping the titles for the other 4 grandchildren irregardless of slimming down the monarchy. When it comes to family dynamics, resentments will be created or grow into wars when one group or person feels like they’ve been shut out of the family fold.

  2. Ridiculous announcement!
    Count or Countess
    Is no more or no
    Less in the forefront
    Than prince or
    Princess! These
    Children are being
    Excluded from their
    Rightful status!
    The Queen should
    Be ashamed of herself!!

  3. I don believe Price Joaquin knew about how his children would be outlasted months ago. This morning interview showed he's kind of affected. maybe the queen was talking about the subject for long but never confirmed, she saw them last week duringthe GoldenJubilee multiple celebrations , why not tell them in person? is kind of cold and sad especially for the two eldest who always use their position to show how proud they are to be Danish 😢 .

  4. I think Queen Margarethe has inadvertently opened a door for King Charles of the UK to follow suit. As I understand it, Prince Joachim ( her second son) is a whiner and ne'er-do-well, malcontent like Prince Harry. ( King Charles' second son) Their two first sons, Prince William and Crown Prince Frederik, are the ones actually doing their duties without complaint and both have loving wives in Princess Catherine and Crown Princess Mary.

  5. Margrethe II is not the first to do this. On 7 October 2019, Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden issued a statement rescinding the royal status of Prince Carl Philip's two children (at the time) and Princess Madeleine's three children in an effort to more strictly associate Swedish royalty to the office of the head of state; they are no longer styled as His/Her Royal Highness, but their princely titles remain and they are still duchesses and duke of their provinces, remaining in the line of succession to the throne. Carl Philip and his wife and Madeleine commented that their children now will have greater possibilities to shape their own lives as private individuals.

In the Netherlands, the constitution since 1922 limits the line of succession and a distinction is made between members of the royal family and members of the royal house. Membership in the royal house is lost to persons who are still in the direct line of succession, but are no longer related to the current monarch within two degrees of kinship. When Willem-Alexander assumed the throne in 2013 this applied to the three children of his brother Prince Constantijn.

  6. Over to you King Charles. Start with this, Duchess of York, Duchess of Sussex both non working royals, making millions from a title in America. Then let´s look at the Duke of Westminster 10 BILLION of personal wealth, due to an inherited title, oh and he didn´t pay inheritance tax.

  8. The royal families are going to be removed globally finally. It's great that they are getting off welfare and will have to earn their own livings – who cares about the titles – let them earn their own livings if they aurvive the Nuremberg trials of their crimes against humanity

  9. The sibling to the Heir is no longer the spare, the heir’s 1st born is now the spare. They are not working royals, if I’m not mistaken having these extra titles out there means the tax payers pay for that

  10. Re the Danish royals being stripped of their titles: if they all were being financially supported by the crown, then I can see the benefits. However, what is the downside to the crown of having fewer members with HRH titles? While it does limit them from making money in certain ways, couldn't that be worked out so that if they agreed to be circumspect regarding a job or profession, they could keep their titles?. What about letting them keep them until they should decide to do something that would require them to give them up, temporarily perhaps? The whole thing seems very unfair.

  11. I think that it's terrible. They should just do away with the monarchies as well! It feels like they are trying to force us to like only certain people and to make them more relevant. If Charles does away with titles as well then he should get rid of the monarchy. I couldn't care less for Charles or for William.

  12. I can see what The Swedish court did to the grandkids took away HRH title but they are still styled as Prince/Princess. I don't think she did the right thing. The two oldest kids are in their 20's and they were PRINCE's they are already making their own way in the world.

  13. There are many Greeks using the title Prince/Princess of Denmark also… they have almost zero connection to Greece today let alone Denmark. The Queen should've considered removing these odd titles before the ones of her son.

  15. If these kids think their identity lies in a title then their parents have failed them. These are the kinds of problems I want to have 😂. My mother who is a queen not letting my kids be princes and princesses so they could work….oh the devastation 😢. Also aren’t his 2 boys models already?

  16. It is unfortunate that Prince Joachim of Denmark and his families were not better prepared and briefed concerning their modified roles as members of the peripheral royal family. The great advantage in my opinion was that scandals such as those around the Sovereign's second son in Britain could be avoided, and these "non-working" rooyals could have relative peace and privacy to earn their own living and enjoy their lives as citizens without being constantly in the limelight. Obviously, government stipends were not forthcoming for all of them, so they need to be able to support themselves without disruption and excessive conflict of interest. It was a pity that Queen Margarethe did not prepare and educate them sufficiently for the change. She does not have the huge court machinery available in Great Britain to educate the royals, and even that machinery has been unable to avoid scandals. In fact, ugly divorces and embarrassing sex scandals are more prevalent in the Windsor family than in most British families today. It's on Prince Joachim's interest to preserve the Danish monarchy, and he is not being very gracious about it. As the father of a blended family and a man whose ex-wife has been treated extraordinarily well, he really should have more common sense. I am sure King Charles III will also be reining in his royal family. Britons are in favour of the monarch by a significant but not immovable majority and it will be best to behave with less extravagance and more economy in a country and real,s with masses of working-class people some of whom are suffering quite severely from poverty and other economic disasters. This is difficult because no one likes to tighten their belts and also because a lot of expensive theatrical pomp and ritual is expected of the KIng and the working royals. Finding a middle way between extravagant display and frugality won't be easy. Fortunately, Kind Charles is a man who likes to think about global issues and who has a life philosophy of his own so with the right help he may manage it – which also means firing a load of fuddy-duddy old courtiers. He's spent a long time thinking about the job. I hope the same is true for the Crown Prince of Denmark too, and I hope some very wise people, including his mother, will take him in hand and get him ready. The job is a lot more encompassable than that of the British King. The royals all over the world are in an existential squeeze, and it's no good whingeing. What they need to do is live up to the challenge with grace and magnanimity!

  17. At least Prince Nikolai can’t claim racism like Meghan Markle did, when it was explained to her that her children would not be Prince or Princess. They, in line with other European royals, who are far down the line of succession, were offered other titles. As in Lord Archie, Earl of Dumbarton. Meghan is now gaslighting the world in order to force King Charles’s hand. I believe Prince Nikolai was merching the monarchy, much in the same way as Markle. Perhaps that’s why his title was removed now instead of when/ if he gets married when he would lose it anyway.

  18. Good for the Queen of Denmark!
The Princes can't be surprised to lose their titles when they both dropped out of the military and make their money in modelling. It's not appropriate for being a senior member of the Royal family. It's a conflict of interest.
I can't understand these privileged people wanting to drop out of Royal duties, but keep all the perks.
You can't have your cake, and eat it.
We are all hoping for the same thing to happen to Harry & the dreadful MeGain, who have maliciously attacked the British Monarchy, even lying about them. They are mean, and shameless.

  20. The swedish monarchy are going in a similar direction. The grandchildren will keep their titles, but in the next generation it is only the children in the direct line of heir of the crown who will be prince/princess.

  21. I think the Queen of Denmark is a terrible grandmother and doesn't care as much for those kids as she pretends. If she truly did this for the kids, then she herself would have been the one to explain her thoughts and reasons to them. It would have been much kinder to make it so the titles would end with them not be taken from them.

  22. Queen Margrethe has done something Queen Elizabeth II never had the heart to do—to slim down the monarchy by stripping down titles. Wonder how Charles would go about this now that a precedent has been done.

  23. I mean! Really? What the fuck is wrong with this people. Isn’t their birth rights to be a Prince and Princess. This is horrible. If the children by their self would have decided to ask the their grandmother that they didn’t want them at some point. Come on what is happening with this royals in Europe, they are going mad!
