Qantas showcases Indigenous art on new A220 plane

Qantas has unveiled the look of its new Airbus A220.

The first of 29 new aircraft will arrive in Australia next year.

The planes are showcasing the artwork of senior Indigenous artist Maringka Baker.

One hundred painters brought the design to life which features 20,000 dots.

The A220s will replace the Boeing 717s used on QantasLink domestic and international short-haul routes.

  1. The pandering to this bunch of β€œhand out” β€œgimme gimme” absolute no hopers is ridiculous πŸ˜‚
All they do is cry, abuse me just for being born white, play the victim and con for more freebies.
Im sick to death of them.

  2. They keep virtue signalling, & jamming this rubbish down our throats. I voted NO to this sympathising leftist woke garbage. So was it the abbos that made Qantas rich? Where's the Aussie FlagπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί? And how much did it cost the tax payer's? How many zombies does it take to paint dots? Apparently 100 of them. FFS!

  3. I don't get the hate… it's classic 'what-about-me-ism'. Giving recognition to one culture doesn't take anything away from another. Regardless of whether a white guy invented the paintings in the 1970's, or whether they were around for thousands of years… As it stands today, they represent the indigenous people of this land, and they're entitled to be proud of it. We call things like sausage sandwiches and fish and chips "Australian"… But the "sausage sandwich" was originally a german dish for hundreds of years. We adopted it in the 1990's and now claim it's ours… and fish and chips originated in England in the 1800's…. Let them have this. It's not a big deal. We can coincide and live together without all the hate.
