In a closely watched speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday railed against the U.S. and its allies and said they were playing a “dangerous, bloody and dirty” game in hopes of dominating the globe.

Putin, who spoke at a conference of international policy experts one day after overseeing a nuclear training exercise, seemed to downplay Russia’s losses in its war with Ukraine and said the conflict he launched was unavoidable after years of building tension.

Despite his repeated veiled references to Russia’s nuclear arsenal in recent months, Putin said he has no intention of using such a weapon in Ukraine: “There is no point in that, neither political, nor military,” he said. The Russian leader also said the world order the West imposed since the Soviet Union’s collapse is “coming to an end,” according to a transcript by The Telegraph.

  1. Before you bash Putin, look up the history and the ones responsible for this war. The coup of 2014 in Ukraine that led to 14,000 dead Ukrainian Russians. USA is responsible.

  2. We just want the US and UK to stop viewing Russia as an enemy. It's time to honestly accept Russia and Russia's right to exist. For example, I'm OK to have the US dollar as the world reserve currency. What I'm not OK with is using the US dollar as a weapon to hurt Russia and other countries. The US stole Russian assets for protecting Russian speaking people in Don Bass while ignoring that the US went to war in Iraq based on a lie. We want a US we can do business with fairly, not a US that stabs you in the back.

  3. If he was serious about this he wouldn't have tried to conquer Ukraine, but would've befriended it and would have been a good neighbour including towards Europe. I would've loved to have seen a good relation between Europe and Russia because it makes sense. Basically Putin is full of shit, his actions don't back up his words. He wanted the glory of being the ruler of some great Russian empire of a Russia that he eroded over the years. By ofcourse, stealing from his own people, assassinating people in foreign countries, MH17, invading Georgia, sending his political opposition to the Gulagh and i can go on forever.

He is just another megalomaniac that does what suits him, like all dictators do in the end.
