8. Unfortunately I have to disagree with on Johnson statement for USA's strategy for Ukraine. I heard recent statements from retired general Ben Hodges, where he makes the same accuses against President Biden. General Hodges says that USA has no clear strategy about this war and has been slow in supplying Ukraine. USA government never said it openly that Ukraine should win this war. Juat listen to the general. He is anti Russian as all we are.

14. I think that we in Europe have to now accept that the US is not a reliable ally. The US Republican Party election slogan is ‘make Russia great again’. The US reputation around the world is collapsing. We in Europe must now stop buying US weapons and only buy from reliable countries. Yes we will need to change our military focus to the defence of Europe. For the UK that means scraping the 2 aircraft carriers. We need to concentrate on a navy which can protect our trade and infrastructure. The army needs to move from an expeditionary force which can respond to humanitarian and military challenges around the world to an armoured force suitable for a war in Europe. France will need to do the same and Germany just needs to start building an armed forces from scratch. If we are serious about our defence we are going to have to spend 4 or 5% of our GDP on defence. Whilst that sounds bad it will come with significant benefits of increasing our industrial capacity, science and GDP. The only question is where will we find the leaders in Europe to do this. Not in Germany or France, but maybe in Poland and the UK. In the mean time Ukraine will have to decide if they want to continue to fight for their independence and freedom on their own. A sad day for democracy and freedom.😢

18. You're too nice a guy. You don't understand modern dictatorships. The force multipler represented by even T50 tanks and rusty AK 47s along with simple to deploy en mass electronic surveiliance and of course, old school torture, along with a handy war that will off 1,000 political prisioners or just potential trouble makers, opposition, partisans etc. for you makes Putin and Russia proof agains ANY likely mass movement. ONLY a carefully prepared coup from within can topple Putin and his hanger ons. With the above, it would seem the only way a coup could be 'hidden' is via the military, and then more due to the ability of top general to ensure the entire command structure down to level of Major, at least around Moscow and a few other key cities, are loyal to him, thus making it possible to order a coup in a matter of hours with no planning. Military coup is how MOST dictatorships end, weahter they install military leaders or hold new 'elections' where their candidate wins.

23. I thought the same thing and that Afghanistan comment upset me. First thing I thought when hearing it was simply, "This isn't Afghanistan. The Ukrainians have shown that they are passionate and are fighting for their country. They did not capitulate when Russia came in and roll over like the Afghanistan's did with the Taliban. The first words I heard from Zelensky was I need bullets not a ride. That set the tone. The Ukrainians have said with action that this is their country and they will resist, they will fight, and they will defend it to their dying breath and with all of their heart as they have been for almost 2 years.

    How anyone can compare this to Afghanistan in any metric I will not understand.
