  1. This was a great video. Love how he takes all of the minis seriously and provides useful advice to improve ranging from that first orc all the way up to the kinds of things you'd enter in a competition. I feel like this kind of feedback is both the most necessary ingredient to improve, and the hardest to come by.

  2. Thank you so much for the constructive criticism! Underlining the explanations with photoshop is always very helpful. Seeing your own mini in a thumbnail is kinda awkward btw… but the after image you made is awesome 😀

  3. Saying to remove mould lines is not nitpicky – it can be a real pain, but it makes a huge difference – if you are someone who cares and displays their miniatures when not playing.

  4. Hi Trovarion ! I don't know if you read all comments related to your content, but here it goes. Let me first preface this by saying that I sincerely enjoy your content. It's always a pleasure to get the professional take of someone much more talented than I am at painting minis. I never comment on youtube videos, but this time I made an exception to explain why I won't watch this video, whose quality I don't question. The reason is the title : I realize, obviously, that as a content creator you have to balance doing what you love and attracting viewership. And I also realize that "DESTROYING viewers Miniatures in SAVAGE feedback video" is much more eye-catching than "pro painter thoughtfully explores areas of improvement for his viewership's minis". But still, this level of clickbait is absolutely ridiculous, in my humble opinion. And let me say for the record that it is clearly a widespread problem, and not only yours. The reason I posted this message is that the upside of clickbaity titles, for content creators, is clear, but I wanted to point out that there is also a downside to clickbait, which generates frustration in viewers like myself, potentially leading to straight-out loss of viewership. I am aware that it is important for you to have engaging titles for your videos, I'm just convinced that there is a better balance to be found between engaging your viewers and not getting into this kind of shameful clickbait. Thanks anyway for your hard work !

  5. "geet goud smiley face " XD text to speach is funny. I really like that you used some visual refference by over-coloring on some of them to really show the difference instead of only verbally explaining it. Its something that really helps beginners or people that want to get better.

  6. That was so good, first time I'm watching one and really appreciated the time and coaching you provided, thanks a lot. I definitely learnt quite a few things re making credible bases, volumetric highlights, etc. How can we submit pictures or be part of the next brutal savage destruct… I meant feedback session?

  7. Really helpful. I love how you changed the look/readability of that barbarian (15:00) with just a few tiny adds of highlight and contrast. Great to see some honest criticism, a resource thats actually very scarse in our modern social media world. EIther its "totaly awesome" or "absolute sh*t".

  8. I keep watching this over and over. This is VERY good constructive criticism. Normally, my friends and I are too nice to give feedback like this to each other (not to mention, none of us are experienced and skilled enough!). Thank you!

  9. Love the vid man. Im kinda new to this mini painting business and this one gave me a lot of tips. I feel like most videos for newbies lack the detail. For example my 1st screwup was applying the shade "all over" just to see it look awful but no video ever goes into that detail because advanced people take some things as obvious.

18:40 the problem with inner fire is that it can look like a dollar store figurine. Vince Venturella has a good vid explaining how to avoid it but i still feel its very hard to sell as "fire".

  10. I'm just imaging the people who would complain that the example of eye glow made using LEDs are not a good example of how you should paint OSL. I think there's a bad habit that exists in all graphic arts where people don't look at references. So much NMM is some painter's interpretation of some painter's interpretation of some painter's interpretation of metal. People look at painted NMM and try to make rules for why it's effective but not at actual references of real metal in the appropriate conditions.

  11. Thank you @trovarion!
As many others have said too, this type photoshop feedback videos are pure gold. I can’t say how helpful it is!
I see my own mistakes in many of these examples.

Thank you for an amazing Channel with so much good content!

  12. 6.24 its amazing how much better it looks with you spending 2 seconds highlighting that green! as a newbie i always struggle and think how much lighter green do i add, where does it stop and where do the darker colours begin?

  13. @trovarion miniatures just an idea, but once you have finished adding your touches would be good to see the original picture alongside your work to really show the difference and what a fe simple steps could achieve?
