Animals are amazing. Years ago, my dog refused to go upstairs after her last potty of the night around 2am. She went to the couch downstairs instead and refused to move which was very unusual. Then I heard a weird noise. Went back outside to see a fire peeking over the fence between my parents house and the neighbors. Turned out the geniuses had put hot coals from their fire pit into their yard debris bin that evening and hours later it finally lit up.
Only thanks to my dog was the fire noticed and contained instead of being allowed to burn all night, potentially destroying both homes.
I've always wondered, could burning your food in the oven actually burn a house down? I know food can start smoking but in a container like an oven would there be enough air supply to grow a fire big enough to escape the oven?
