  1. Hey guys, we're looking at the F8F-1 today, the earlier Bearcat. Nice to fly, hard to keep cool and to finish stuff off with. Not the easiest plane to fly. But rewarding, yes! Let me know what you think about the plane, and dont forget to Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe to the channel if you havnt yet. I would highly appreciate your efforts and your support! Hope you have a great day and a good start to your weekend! o7

  2. Personally, I enjoy the plane! It may be a bit sweaty but running it with MEC really helps the overheating. Run it at 87% prop pitch (it hardy affects performance), adjust your radiators to your desired temp, and watch the your engine performance win you fights! Don’t forget about changing your supercharger

  3. I’m so tired of the broken American flight models, and German. Overheating, wrong manifold pressure, bad turn rates and and just overall completely botched planes like the hellcat make me want to pound my head into a wall.. and ofc all the Russian props over perform 😉

  4. I really like the performance of the plane.
I fly at 95% most of the time, only when I need 100% and at the beginning.

Because of the FIrepower yes that's true, but I enjoy hitting people and enjoying a long dogfight. That's part of the chase for me – I like to pull out until the pilot crash lands. Of course, there are many situations where you need a quick kill, so it does get in the way.

My biggest weakness is the drifting to the side that you mentioned, which makes it very difficult for me to aim well. Unfortunately, I've already experienced situations where I couldn't clear the ally's 6 in time, which was frustrating.

For me, this is a plane with 6.3 performance on br 5.0 which is just as much fun as the bi when it was 6.3. Since it's 6.7 it hits thunderjets too often….but that's oftenopic.

Thanks for the great review o7

  5. Have to run these at like 85% throttle, think of 100% as WEP, and think of WEP as 'absolutely NEED SPEED moments'.. lol. After using WEP for a little bit, it starts overheating quicker and quicker at higher throttles. Have to be conservative

  6. It's weird how 4x .50 cals on the P51C seem really good, but the 4x .50 cals on this plane feel so anemic. Difference in speed between 50 and 3.7 maybe?
This plane feels like a US made Yak. I find it difficult to BnZ with because of the stiffening and weird rudder.

  7. What’s crazy is that the F8F overcooled irl. Gaijin have stated that the overheating is basically a “balancing” mechanism even though with the rudder and MER nerf the Bearcat is far from the monster that it used to be years ago.

  8. I would REALLY like to see the serkit dokumints that says the Beercan had this type of overheating issue. I have read the Pilot's handbook and many other books and have found nothing other than the first prototype, they redesigned the nose slightly to increase cooling. I really feel like the snail introduced this with errors and never bothered to fix them. Also, the climb is awesome in this, but it feels a little less than it should be. Also, didn't it have the M3 version of the 50 cals? I know the 20mm were the M3 version of them. Maybe that is what I was remembering. Either way, it feels like Gaijin has it in a bit for this plane. Maybe it would be hard to balance if it had full performance, but hey, there are plenty of other planes that fit that category that are not nerfed into oblivion.

  9. the bearcats where nerfed to the ground, IRL the plane is exellent. use tracer belts, you will get kills by fire. For me this plane is strong, the fly performance is worth it, and yeah you have to use MEC if you want more performance. you have to be agressive, side climb only a bit, then level yourself and fake head ons and disrupt the enemy team, you are very fast in straight line, go and pick the targets that are away from the center of the formation.

  10. This plane from what I hear is abysmal in air rn, but there's certainly better options at it's br. However, in ground rb, it's pretty solid with it's bomb payload and I run it sometimes as a "wildcard" so to speak.

  11. when i usually fly this thing i end up keeping the throttle at the 80% ranges while cruising considering how bad the overheating is. still, i've had some nice matches in it with how fast it is

  12. This plane might be the only US Naval prop plane that i heard you said that it has a great climb rate. Actually maybe even among all US plane since you in rank 1 guide that US are not the best climber in the world generally.

To be honest i thought the f4u would climb 4400ft per min according to Wekepedia but to be honest it might be a f2g stats.

  13. The F8f is a good plane in its own rights. But the one thing that puts me off from this thing is that overheating cooking engine and why is the F8f-1 at 5.0?. Second why is the F8f-1b at 6.3?
