  1. For me, if Sony had released a lesser spec device, I wouldn't be interested even if it was 299$. I'm willing to buy it to get a next-gen VR gaming experience. I have an older PC Occulus Rift, and a Quest 2, and I never play them, because I'm tired of not impressive just okay small games and gimmicks.

I'm hoping that PS VR2 can finally deliver games that capture my interest in a package that let's you enjoy them. The spec seem to be there to do it, and they have the game catalogue and chop.

  2. I was let down by psvr 1 the lack of games was ridiculous and at the end of its life it only has around 20 games worth playing. I won't be buying this if the games are the same as last time

  3. I don't know what this guy in the video is talking about but I do know that for the price of the PS VR2 headset it's a deal compared to other so-called premium gaming headsets. And the quality of VR that you're going to get on the PS5 you would have to have a decent PC to compare. You're looking at 900 to $1,000 of PlayStation 5/VR2 equipment competing against what would be $3,000 worth of VR PC equipment.

  4. 2k per eye at how many hertz…? 120?? I find it really hard to believe the vr is even going to be capable of taking advantage of that number, as the ps5 is nowhere near capable to handle steady frame rates that high when rendering twice at 2k each AND on a graphically intensive game. Keep in mind this is the same system that struggled to use raytracing at all on gran turismo 7 so they had to essentially mislead people, tell them it had raytracing, then come to find out its only enabled in replay recordings. Honestly it would be so much better If they targeted something like 70-80 fps simlar to oculus, where it will be a lot more stable and you wont be getting stutters/frame drops that will make you sick. Hell my 1800 dollar gaming laptop struggles to run games at a stable 70-80 fps and thats with oculus's lower resolution screens. It just sounds like marketing blabber, where they are saying big numbers to try to wow people when in reality its not taking advantage of any of it. If it does, I'll be impressed and it will absolutely be worth the price. But I'll believe it when I see it, cause it sure seems like ps5 isnt capable of those kinds of numbers, especially on any graphically intensive vr game like whatever horizon is doing.

  5. I think the fact that every video I clicked on says “over priced headset” all saw the same article and went with it, without doing a shred of research. Overpriced is not the word. Expensive? Sure. But overpriced means paying way more money than something is worth, and in the VR space, this is an absolute steal. And someone will mod it to work on PC, so just give it some time.

  6. Pre-ordered the VR2 Horizon pack for $960 here and to me this is cheap, when I compare it to say the Valve Index at $1900. The tech in this headset is amazing and one of the biggest draws for me is being able to just use VR in the living room, where I have lots of space. To use my current VR headset properly, I have to drag my PC out into the living room and it's just a real pain, not to mention the headset isn't even close to the level of tech in Sony's VR2.

  7. Same people complaining spend $50 a month on their smartphone so they can get the new $1200 phone every year 🙄 the PSVR one came out bundled with the camera for $450 when the PS4 was $400.

The quest two is $400-$500 now and runs off of a modified smartphone processor.
The PS5+PSVR2 is $950-$1050 and has eye tracking with foviated rendering that will push it's performance to the same level as an RTX 3090 PC and a Valve index which is $3000+

Also PCVR has very few and far between high fidelity graphical games due to companies making more to optimize for the quest 2 and it's huge market share. The PSVR will have a huge volume of better graphics games and push developers to optimize for a much higher end processor and GPU. This will bring the whole VR community to a better place and I bet we will see people buying PS5 and VR2 to play games not on PCVR

  8. The higher price is a GOOD THING. We don't want them skimping on the tech on this one – there's some ground breaking stuff happening in this headset like foveated rendering.

It is high. And that speaks to it's quality – now they just need the software to match.

They musttt make a badass VR home also.

  9. Even though there are lots of VR games for ps4 … most of the games are not that great, some are too short and needs longer game play. Seems like Sony didn't even spend much time making great games for the PSVR1 but here comes the PSVR2. With that price they are charging hope they make some great games to play with it cause it would be a waste of money to buy and not being played much because of no good games.
