PlayStation devs throw SHADE at Elden Ring! FURIOUS people forgot about Horizon Forbidden West!

Looks like some Sony developers and people who worked on Horizon Forbidden West are very jealous of the success Elden Ring has seen on PlayStation 5!

  1. While I can't give an opinion on ither game because I have not played them. I do enjoy FromSoftware's games. And that's not limited to the souls games. That includes their apparently little known armored core series. (That has not had a game since the PS3/360 Era)

  2. In order to stay competitive the next horizon game will feature Aloy with a beard and afro. "We learnt a lot from our competition with elden ring, and gamers have spoken 🏳️‍🌈 "

  3. I love Elden Ring, and I look forward to playing the new Horizon game soon. Don’t have time to play it now, and when I do the enjoyment will be no less for the delay. The rage addicts will whine about anything lol.

  4. Started playing Horizon, but Elden Ring has just completely taken over my gaming. And honestly, it's not like Horizon is a bad game, but Elden Ring is just on a whole other level. Horizon is good, but I kinda get tired of the hand holding and all. It's not just Horizon, but just adventure/open world games in general, and it's a bit tiresome really. Now, I don't think I died even once playing the first Horizon game, and haven't yet on this one. Horizon's enemy movements are given to you with Focus mode which dulls combat for me because I really don't have to learn the patterns, and it just feels like I'm always being led around to where I need to go. I get less of the thrill of exploration, discovery and danger from Horizon. Elden Ring gives you nothing and expects you to pay attention to the world, the enemies, everything. The story is told through item descriptions, the environment, through dialogue with NPC's that you have to find on your own. You have to learn the enemy movements, read their telegraphing, and overcome them, and when you need to go somewhere, you really have to figure out where you are expected to go on your own. I spent one day wandering aimlessly and discovered so many insane, incredible things and got nowhere near my actual objective. I literally spent a day accomplishing nothing for the story, but felt so great at all of the things I had discovered. And when you finish Horizon, that's it. No real reason to go back. In Elden Ring, you finish and the next thing you see is New Game+, and you realize it's not over yet. There are other endings to find, secrets yet unseen, and more to be done. The design is just completely different, and I am not surprised that Horizon got overshadowed

  5. I've played both. HFW had some enjoyable moments, graphics was awesome, being able to swim was fun, story was ok(although most second chapter/nothing of importance happens ever), and gameplay mechanics was buggy asf at times. Good game all in all, although they mostly just added features to the original, was lazy about the overall story and hamfisted several "woke" sidquests, were the dialouge made no sense besides token apperance. So all in all, a descently crafted but very standard AAA game. Elden Ring is by far the most fun I*ve had in any RPG since the early 90's, it is amazing, groundbreaking in the same way Skyrim was, and has set a new standard both for RPG's and Open World games in general. They are not comparable by any means…

  6. Horizon is a good series, but it suffers bad launch, Zero Dawn was release 4 days before BotW release, and now Forbidden West was release a week before Elden ring. all great games but seriously it was terrible timing for release. it would've been best to delay it for a month or 2 that both games would've been finish and they could've jump on Horizon Zero series

  7. I mean, it IS pretty dumb. People love Dark Souls, and just because GRRM wrote item descriptions, people are flipping a bitch about it. I don't quite understand it. Horizon is a bit more of an original IP than the umpteenth Medieval fantasy horror property. I'm also looking for scenes of Aloy where she looks more like a dude but they're likely just from scenes where she's twisting her face. Absolute terrible decision to release it around Elden Ring though. People love Dark Souls more than anything right now

  8. I don't know if it's just me, but leftists and feminism have driven me away from anything with a female lead. Soon as I see the main character is a female, I nope out and ignore it, because 9 times out of 10 there is some anti-male narrative. Lefties made things worse for women it seems…

  9. You know, I've seen many of the trailers for Horizon: Zero Dawn, but up until yesterday I thought those were trailers for the first Horizon game & wondered why they were still showing trailers for it

  10. I like Horizon but let's be fair here, FromSoft been at it with the Souls formula since 2009 and many people love souls games which has been around 13 years now, Horizon has been around a few years and just now got a sequel but it kinda was obvious horizon releasing close to Elden Ring was gonna turn out this way…Just saying.

  11. been on Twitch long enough to know that Elden Ring views will go down drastically when the next flavor of the month comes along, so no biggie, both games are awesome, Elen Ring has been gameplay and Horizon FW has a better story, so I have both and am enjoying myself tremendously, in the end, it's a win-win for fans.

update: primetime views are out and Elden Ring already lost 161k viewers, so yeah it's about what I thought was going to happen, is happening. No biggie.

  12. Horizon is a good game but Elden ring is a great game. That being said, FS should address the performance issues that are present on every platform and work on them if they ever want to be seen a AAA software producer.

  13. Both Elden Ring and Horizon FW are fantastic games. There is something to be said about how hypercritical some reviewers were about tech issues in Horizon FW yet were unbelievably reticent regarding calling out the significant problems with performance in Elden Ring. It reminded me of how reviewers were harsh about Nier: Automata not having a locked 60 fps at all times yet they also claimed you "barely notice" when Breath of the Wild dipped to 20 fps in grassy fields. They they praised that problem being improved with an update. Weird how it wasn't an issue you'd even notice but it's such an amazing improvement when it is updated.

Elden Ring has far more significant technical problems than Horizon FW despite being a substantially less graphically impressive game yet barely got criticized and received tons of 10/10s. Horizon FW is easily one of the most graphically impressive games ever made in addition to being a very good game. I put a video up on my channel if you think I'm exaggerating how incredible it looks, and the performance has been very good.
