  3. while i understand the irony in wanting to watch a reaction video to a plagiarism callout, this video is just too much to not see someone else see first hand.

    ive already watched the original nearly twice over so i can owe myself this

  4. Yeah this kind of ruined my ability to enjoy IH videos – which sucks because his Area 51 video was my favourite video on youtube for a long time. That one wasn't plagiarised… I think… but it doesn't matter to me, it's all been tainted.

    (Also I should probably stop giving chances to YouTubers who still casually drop the R slur in [Current Year]… yeah maybe shouldn't have ignored that)

  5. I still kind of back Internet Historian. He messed up badly in the man in cave video yes, but since then he has been much better in citing sources. I don't see it being malicious as it was lazy, and feel hbomb was a little bit too harsh on him. I do want to explain some of my reasoning, but will be the first to admit it not being concrete. First if IH messed up on other videos I would think Hbomb would have brought them to attention as well. I myself haven't noticed issues with other videos. Second the man in cave video was re-uploaded again with changes and proper credit given. It got hidden for awhile, but no one knows why. It could have well been some error they had to fix, audio/visual issue, who knows. Lastly I hear IH went and got permission from mental floss so they can reupload. Now while I have no proof of that, I will say the man in cave video wasn't taken down again. I doubt just changing some more of the words would have stopped a take down.

    watching a history video on youtube is like reading a wikipedia article. It's fine to get you interested in the subject, but you still need to look up actual resources to learn the full story.
