EVERYONE J-walks in Japan. I lived in Kyoto for 7 months during an exchange trip, and every single day everyone would j walk to get to the nearest combini for breakfast. There was an elementary school near my dorm and I saw more than once a mother leading her child by the hand across the road between two crosswalks.

I literally watched a restaurant go off on one of my friends for filming her food & talking about Japanese cuisine. The security guards running drills against YouTubers is not all that uncommon. Here in the states we regularly have drills where some people will dress in civilian clothes and “protest” the military presence. It being for specifically YouTubers might be weird but each country has its own security threats.
