  1. As someone who red the books: too fast, the fact that it is a son of Poseidon should be a shock, and he shouldn't win that fight against 3 sons of Ares
Dionisus scene is the funniest scene btw

  2. FunFact: in the books its stablished that Zeus, Hades & Poseidon made the oath of not having more children after World War 2, because the war was caused by their children and in the end Zeus & Poseidon's children won against the Hades' children, implying that Adolf could have been one of Hades' children

  3. You'd think the daughter of Ares and the son of Poseindon would get along better, probably bonding over hatred against the daughter of the Athena. Then again, a child is not supposed to be their parents.

  4. This is a little detail but when annabeth here reveals she was watching Percy fight all this time w/o helping she's kinda mean about it with the 'yes I didn't help you πŸ™„" and then pushes him into the water???

Whereas in the book she says something along the lines "Sorry I came here to help as soon as I could but it looked like you didn't need any"
It just feels like they wanted to show her as a badass so they made her unnecessarily rude.
Also her reaction to Poseidon being percys dad is wayyy too calm. Again, in the books her response was "oh God's this is bad, this is really bad" which yeah considering it was the 2nd God who broke tje oath makes it a more realistic reaction 😭

I also wish they had shown more of how the water helped Percy become stronger during his fight (which is what happened in the books)

  5. A couple fun facts about that fight scene by the river! This'll answer the questions you had about his fighting.
    1. There's been a timelapse between Percy's arrival at camp and capture the flag. They didn't include it in the episode, but along with all the archery and blacksmithing he's also been practicing swordplay with Luke.
    2. Percy is strengthened by the water! This is also what helped him beat the Minotaur with absolutely zero experience (since it was raining). Since he's fighting partially in the surf, his battle senses are better.
    3. According to the author of the books (Rick Riordan), Percy's actor, Walker, is a perfectionist that practiced swordplay so diligently that by the time they shot this scene he had to make an effort to act like he was bad at it lol

  6. This show is going to be amazing. I know because the author, Rick Riordan, has expressed over and over just how happy he his with how it turned out. He was heavily involved in its production, and is even listed as co-writer in the credits. Every time I see an interview with him, he's so clearly overjoyed with the finished product. And of course the source material itself is a modern classic. So I recommend getting hyped — this show's gonna rock.
