We are back for the third journey into Middle-earth. This is our blind reaction to, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. This is a 2003 epic fantasy adventure film directed by Peter Jackson, based on the third volume of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. The film is the final movie of the Lord of the Rings trilogy & was produced by Barrie M. Osborne, Jackson & Fran Walsh, from a screenplay by Walsh, Philippa Boyens & Jackson. Frodo, Sam and Gollum are making their final trip to Mount Doom in Mordor to destroy the One Ring, unaware of Gollum’s bad intentions, while Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and the rest are joining forces together against Sauron & his armies in Minas Tirith. elves, dwarves, hobbits

"The Hobbit" is originally a 300-page children's book, but Peter Jackson expanded it into a 9-hour trilogy. Keep in mind that there are many unnecessary parts, so be warned. However, overall, it's still enjoyable!
The eagles were never an option. The whole point of the quest was to destroy the ring in secret. Remember only the members of The Fellowship knew they were trying to destroy the ring. A bunch of giant eagles flying over the land, that would've drawn attention and given someone time to develop a defence against them. Also the eagles are controlled by just one guy. They only take orders from him and no one else. If he doesn't order it they won't do it. The only reason they saved Gandalf in the first movie is because they owe him a favour.
@3:01 Gandalf looks like a lame wizard because he's not a human mage; he is a Maiar, the equivalent of an angel in Tolkien's lore. He can do small magics using enchanted trinkets (specially fire spells, due because he is the doner of one of the elvish rings of power). Other than that, he's no better than a very physically fit grampa veteran against ordinary foes. He and other wizards were sent to the world by the Supreme Being to guide the peoples of Middle-Earth with wisdom and good counsel, not by force (a mandate that Saruman has ignored and thus seems much more capable). Against demonic beings (the Balrog, the Nazgull, the Witch King) his powers are shown in the full, though he can still be outclassed by high level demons.
The spider, Shelob, is also not just a giant spider: it's a physically embodied demon. The holy light tha Frodo carries (and which Galadriel foresaw he'd need in due time) actually hurts and weakens Shelob. She is strong enough to overcome the effect and keep on the attack, but with mere steel weapons even elite warriors would end up (and have been) slaughtered.
Men or women can't kill the Witch King, nor a simple Hobbit. It's all about the magic dagger merry was using to stab the Witch King!

Eowyn is the other girl who had a crush on Aragorn. She's King Theoden niece and sister to Eomer who is play by Karl Urban. Eowyn ended up with Faramir who is Boromir's brother which you saw in the two towers. This isn't the extended edition, so i don't remember what was edited out. Eomer did become King of Rohan.

Hey thanks for your reaction ! About Frodo you have to known something: him, faramir and denethor are the 3 caracters Jackson screwed they're so much better in the books !
I can't say a lot without spoil but Frodo is more wise and strong in the books and was 100% honest about all the story (how in the end he want to keep the ring, how sam was the "real" hero, …) So don't worry Sam have a huge success 😎
Sam is the "real" hero in the story but everyone in the fellowship was a key-figure in the story take one of them and Sauron win
In the books Frodo was 33 years old when he heredited the ring and 50 years old when he left the shire. The movie is disguising.
Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, Barlog are angelic being. Gandalf is not really a common wizard. The Valar (Gods of Tolkien's world) command the Istari (wizards) to use tactics and not their full power. Otherwise Sauron would find out. Instead they use the help of Frodo, a small hobbit, known to nobody and capable to hide and to finish the mission. It was a secret mission.
Frodo was a real hero, because he carried the evil inside him for all the mission. That's why he left middle Earth, at the end. He was heavily corrupted and he went to the immortal lands to heal his soul and then die in peace
Yup, all the empathy of a rock.
The lady was fine.
People get angry at Frodo but people don't understand, Frodo is the reason the mission was possible, Frodo had a strong resilience to the ring. We saw how quickly Sam was getting corrupted by the Ring.
Yes Frodo is not a sword fighter, his strength and importance relies on his resilience to the ring.
Yes Sam was vital to the mission but with out Frodo taking the corruption of the Ring no one would have been able to destroy the ring.
Frodo and Sam are like a Shield and a Sword. Sam is the sword while Frodo is the shield that took all the damage.

I'd go a little easier on Frodo. He had the weight of the ring bearing down on him the ENTIRE time.
Sam never had to deal with it, neither did Merry or Pippin. Hell it drove Boromir mad and he never touched it.
