My earliest conscious memory of Yes was the Owner Of A Lonely Heart video. I remember being nuts about the guitar and drums. Over the years I'd heard the typical Roundabout and Long Distance Runaround plays on the radio. Fast forward to the early-2000s and a coworker gave me a ripped copy of YesYears. Man did that open my mind. Over the last year, I put together a hifi system and have been buying music like crazy. That's 5 or 6 Yes CDs easily, with plans to explore more of their catalog. The acoustic guitar is a stroke of creative genius. They're easily one of my favorite Rock groups now.
Ooops! I said I didn’t know Tony Kaye was in Yes and of course I did because of The Yes Album. Mistake.
You stated this was gonna go for an hour but that didn't go as planned. 🙂
Starship Trooper means that's a Whale of a list you got there!
Yes music in the 80's was all about visuals but the music didn't suffer..😀🎼
Martin Pugh was the player on the Armageddon album. He played with Rod Stewart earlier i think
And You and I inspired countless bands: Supertramp,Heart,Pink Floyd,Steve Miller band,Zeppelin,Styx,Rush just to name a few!
Is it just me or does Going for the One give off Ray Manzarek vibes from the Keyboards?
So glad Uncle Meat picked 'Changes'.That is in my top ten-ty Yes songs
Chris Squire used Rickenbacker bass pro and Ampeg classic bass amp, Al Cisneros from Sleep and OM bands uses his signature Rickenbacker bass pro custom made and Orange 🧡 Amps
Picked up CTTE in '72 when it came out 2 weeks later saw them in concert with Gentle Giant backing them up the third band were The Eagles.Paid $2.50 at eh end of the night the Eagles were still the 3rd best band.Have seen Yes at least 25 times over the years just one of my all time greats
