We just use r1 r2 l1 l2 pull the top of the controller so you can see the buttons then that’s our layout
Here is my challenge. This is an arena not a stage. Sports are perfect example. Front and back are not used as points of reference by soccer and football players, because the focal point is constantly changing. They use other adaptations to create references, just like we use L1/R1 ideas. Imagine if soccer players were all yelling he’s heading to the front!! Oryx is only the focal point during damage, but before that it’s everywhere but him.
Any other number fans here….?

I fully agree. Oryx spawns at the FRONT of the room and you enter through the BACK door or the arena. If you disagree you are wrong.
Regardless of your opinion, the plates closest to oryx is L2 and R2, the plates by the door is L1 and R1.
I just use L1 R1 etc. makes life super easy.
You walk in the room, if you are holding a controller.. It's L1, L2 and R1, R2 with the L2 and R2 being closest to Oryx. Simple.

The focal point of a room is the front of a room
This must mean in order to determine the front of the room, we must determine the focal point
I think the focal point is the door because the focal point of a room has to always be there. This is because, there would be no front otherwise. Therefore oryx is not the focal point as oryx or is not always in the room
Whag is always at the room is the door however, without an entrance to a room the room would not be complete, therefore oryx is at the back of the room
No disrespect to anyone but it's pretty pathetic that the destiny community is being "torn apart" over something so trivial. Who cares. Play the raid the way its easiest for you to understand. Everyone has their own call outs. Enough said.
It would be easier to say flag and boss for callouts, there's no way someone cant get these callouts.
if the front is where the focus is, then when oryx goes to one of the plates does that become the front because that plate become the front
Walk into your target/walmart and ask where to buy an xbox/playstation (our main focal point) they will litteraly point and say "its towards the back"
Flag placement is CONSITITENT, boss and enemy spawns ARE NOT. So making flag front or closest objective to flag 1 standardizes ALL raids. Logic

Ok i get that and i also think oryx is at the front however why did we make calls at atheon calling front (left middle right) and back, yet the back oracles are the ones closer to atheon. By that logic oryx should be at the back of the room but thats just wrong

Or you could just label them like my usual raid team does. L1, L2, R1, R2. With L1 and R1 being closest to the rally flag. That seems to be the easiest from my experience.

There’s only one entrance to the room making it the front entrance at the front of the room. The rally banner doesn’t spawn at the back of the room.

At a concert the FOH (Front of House) Engineer is located opposite the stage. Using this logic should they be called the BOH (Back of House) Engineer.

Numbering starts from where the encounter starts. So when you enter the room. Just like in VotD.

For me i understand the front and back callouts its just the people are the ones that confuse me with THEIR interpretation of it , like i can understand it from their pov , but their is NO CONSISTENCY to it
Anyone who says Oryx is in the back is completely wrong. Pull out Mida Multi Tool and point towards where Oryx spawns, the compass will point nothernly. Also, you look at the ship from the outside, where we fight Oryx, is the bow of the ship

If the focus is the front of the room, then the teacher and the children would have different references to the front, and the word would be meaningless. The front of a classroom is typically where the teacher teaches and you enter the room. Any room or building is typically designed such that you enter from the front. Just because you walk in through the backdoor doesn’t mean you walked in through the front.

Technically their not wrong but like who the hell says calls like that. Science isn't needed nor math. The front door entrance is considered the front like the front of the house. Oryx would technically be in the back of the house by that logic. But as you come in oryx is on a stage putting up a show for us and he's in the front. So either way each side is a front but it's much simpler to say the stage where oryx is giving up a lap dance is the front. Any other way is complicating it for no reason
Front is where you come in and back is where oryx is if you think differently you belong on a cross
