important context to add here is that these kinds of collabs are usually planned way ahead. now i do suspect that the new version of midnights was at least a little rushed, seeing as there is no vinyl available as of yet because vinyl records take long to produce (that’s why folklore and evermore got vinyls months after release and not on release), while cds go a lot faster in production. we also got this confirmed by taylor literally saying ‚lana and i went back to the studio‘. as well as that vault track, that also feels like it might have been produced after the original production of midnights wrapped. now how long the ice spice collab was planned in advance i can’t tell because i don’t know, we will have to wait and see what news get leaked about that collab.
similarly i‘m curious to see if taylors pr machine can get a hold of matty healy to where he at least pretends to become a better person because i don’t think taylor cares a lot about what he does until it reflects poorly on herself and puts her at risk of not becoming a billionaire this year. i do believe that taylor isn’t responsible for the adult she’s dating but i don’t believe that she had no clue he was racist, she probably thought they could just keep sweeping that under the rug and didn’t expect this much backlash.
