  1. SUPER easy to fix her character and motivation… she wants to go help on a hunt, they tell her no. Also, the tribe is on the move to a new hunting ground. One day, she sees some prey that's like a layup, super easy to get, so she thinks, and she breaks off from the group and gets lost, and while trying to find them, she sees the predator picking off members of her tribe, and decides to hunt it right back.

Or the predator wipes out her village while she's out gathering, maybe chases the majority out, and she has to go find them, and run into it tracking her people on the way, and she learns to track and hunt it. 🤔

Just becoming a hunter because wamen gender roles doesn't work.

  2. The ending of Prey I would like much more is that the predator has been defeated. Our heroine has convinced her tribe to band together all forces to fight the monster and emerged triumphantly, but at the cost of the deaths of those she recruited. Her village is gone and she has gotten her wish with an ironic twist. She became a Hunter and proved it to herself and only her as no one was left to witness it. A scene fades to black showing her broken and alone. A final scene fades in showing some kind of plains or woodland carnivore doing it's thing, but it becomes distracted and alert, searching for something cautiously. It is attacked by an invisible foe that, blow by blow, weakens the beast until ultimately bringing it down. Victoriously, the unseen figure uncloaks and is revealed to be our heroine, clad with predator technology, embracing the Hunt as she has no humanity left. The movie ends.

  3. 1:33:50 When Disparu says "Oh no, the trailer tells you everything" he's not understanding that it was not like today. 1. There was basically no internet. 2. Trailers were only at the movies or on big TV events and 3. That's internet trailer is not the original that I remember, it was Just the T3 and Sarah that was shown… so not many(basically nobody) had a clue on the plot of T2. We were too busy bar hoppin',gettin' laid and crankin' Metallica and GnR. Sadly not what most young men are doing today.

  4. Apocalypto, crouching tiger like AZ said. those were a success. People are getting exposed to subtitles more and more on streaming platforms. so i think Comanche would have worked great. its immersive, oh and you would have had a real cast instead of cali valley girl and clothing magazine boys.

  5. I have this feeling naru is a subversive 'Mary sue'. They put in the early scenes of her making some errors so they can say she obviously isn't one. Misdirection.
I wasn't expecting much from this film but it was better than I expected. Unfortunately it could have been so much better. The writers weren't clever enough to have the protagonist win through genuine teamwork and ingenuity and maybe a bit of luck. Far too much reliance on her unrealistic fighting ability.
No idea how she got the huge predator out of the deep quagmire to cut off its head.

  6. Drinker, buddy, you need to find new friends. Don't let your anti-woke stance get in the way of a good movie. Prey was great, and the protagonist is phenomenal. She struggles throughout the entire film until she is finally able to overcome the odds. The movie took the time to develop the characters and the world, the score was great, and the atmosphere and tone of the movie was on point. This one definitely gets two thumbs up.

  7. Although I'm side eying the whole, 'this is woke womanazi propaganda!' I do agree they should have played into tribal family, where the MC and her brother respect each-other and use one anothers strengths to get the tribe to work together in fighting the Predator. Although I'm also in the camp that they could have had the Predator win here.

  8. Prey: Actual dialog from this film spoken by an Comanche Indian “don’t worry, I got this” seriously is that a popular Comanche saying is it? I got this. Because I’ve never heard that before 2016

  9. Thank you Mauler for keeping Disparu calm because goodness his takes on Prey are disingenuous, like he watched the movie to hate it, no objective critique…AZ's takes were also meh…glad this group wasn't a monolith on PREY…

  10. Here's a crazy idea: take the character Bloodsport and the character Deadshot, put them both in a movie, have all the supporting cast keep confusing them because their skills are literally the same, and call the movie "BloodShot" or "DeadSport".

  11. so many things about the PREY that was just so…ugh. You guys went on about the predator killing the fella with one leg out of surprise?..you dont get it, they predator knew there was something there..it deliberately stood on it to see if there would be a reaction..once confirmed it killed him..it knew something had changed in its environment..it knew there should be heat there..so it stood on it and when it made a noise ..it killed, the predators stride is too great to take that short a step..it was a deliberate action

the scene with the bird….OF COURSE she is going to say after the fact……..oh yeah i was waiting for it to come back…OF COURSE she will say that..siblings ALWAYS say these things..and its EASY to say that AFTER THE FACT…cause yeah..you know EXACTLY what a bird is going to do as its flying away from you at a distance ???? …NO..its called LYING..and COVERING YOUR BEHIND!!

the lion scene…wow, so super stealth lion rips the guy out the tree unseen..drags him behind the tree..and kills him..and even though supershot naru could have hit the tiny flying bird at a distance..she cannot hit the back end of the lioin from much closer??…OR shoot the fully in view lion as it runs past closer????……seriously??..then she falls..not dying even though she fell 20 feet onto a rock..AND she as she falls from the tree manages to THROW the spear into the lions side full on????…WOW!!!!

the fight with the predator at the end……..the brother was doing moves that NOONE was showing any capability of ..he was killing it ..so it went invisible..ok..fine..but SHE is the only one capable of killing it at that point? the brother just stands there?? doesnt move..decides ok no more fighting..no more evading..no more being a hard target? just stand and die??

oh and THIS ALL from what to them…was a demon? evil sky god? or something similar?…yeah ok…………..ALL OF THIS WITH A STONE AXE………….STONE?? when you have THAT MANY faults in a film…TWEAKS is not gonna fix it….TWEAKS???…many scenes need to be completely rewritten..reshot..even eliminated…..it has to be a complete OVERHAUL!!!..and that tells you the film is NOT GOOD..

there are several people in this video that say things like………oh if you compare it with this film..or that film….its better than those……..i do not compare………this film should be viewed by itself…cause if you compare it all you are doing is making excuses to validate your argument……when by itself..the film is actually lower than what is stated
    PREDATOR
    PREDATORS/PREDATOR2

    PREY
    THE PREDATOR

  12. "The world has changed. I feel in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it. " Cate Blanchett whispering those lines to the theater put a spell on me. My easy and absolute favorite introduction to a movie.

  13. Also, I like the continuity that a few days ago Az asked on the twatters how drunk he should get for this stream, the response was overwhelmingly "incomprehensible", and for the most part Az came through.

  14. I really enjoyed the movie and appreciate everyone's opinion…. BUT that final fight was NOT okay lmao. Legit doing flips all over the predator going toe to toe with him. Completely took me out of the movie there. Sad, but overall still a good predator movie FINALLY

  15. I'm still on the fence about the bear being defeated in a melee by the predator. Dutch doesn't do well in his unarmed combat with the predator, but he lasted longer than he would have against a bear.
