Today we’re having another look at the NZR JA class steam locomotive, made for TS by NZTS Workshops. This time we’re on a 3ft gauge freeware route called ‘Sholton River Railway’, which is available on Steam Workshop. I’ve found that the New Zealand rolling stock doesn’t look too silly on 3ft gauge track.
This time we’re driving JA 1267, preserved by Mainline Steam in real life (though she hasn’t run under her own power since 1972). Also seen in the video is DJ 1227, part of the Dunedin Railways fleet. As we went along, I lost patience because of the constantly awful frame-rates (yet again), and I decided not to bother with a return trip.
I might try driving the JA on Clear Creek Narrow Gauge, but we’ll have to wait and see if that idea actually goes ahead.
