Vin explains the Hegelian dialectic
Brandon does often put surprise viewpoint characters near the end of the story, but Elend is a bit different. He was meant to be a main viewpoint character from the start, but Brandon realized that the story works better if his motives and allegiances were as mysterious to the reader as they were to Vin. Now that we know him plainly, Brandon feels it is a good time to introduce his viewpoint to confirm what we know.
Also, sure Lady Kliss is "easily manipulated" 😜. So looking forward to your reactions to the next few chapters!
