Please tell me if im coming out of left field here. Most women i have met who played video games, when given a choice, fall into some combination of Cute, Pretty, and/or Sexy.
You can see this with female character that are most popular with women. Lara Croft, firmly in the sexy category. Princess Peach, very pretty and cute. Just look at MMOs and the types of characters women make in them.
In fact id say the the most popular female character among women most often have all three. Like 2B. She is obviously sexy as hell but she is also very very pretty and very cute.
