No Condemnation | Romans 8:1-17

The law of the spirit of life in Christ has set believers free from the law of sin and death. The Apostle Paul contrasts these two mindsets ~flesh and spirit~ and highlights the hope and power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor John preaches an encouraging message this week of freedom from sin, starting with the biblical promise of “no condemnation” in Romans 8. He implores us to live according to God’s will, sharing in the glorious inheritance of Christ through our adoption as royal heirs to His Kingdom. All believers who are called out of darkness into glorious light can revel in this hopeful commitment of God’s Word.

  1. It's disappointing that you're reading from a version that has removed critical portions of scripture.

Yours reads "there is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus."

Half the scripture has been removed, and really it's the more important half.
The completed verse is this…"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit."

If you think it doesn't matter, as long as the point Paul is trying to make is the same, please re-read these 2 versions and tell me how they convey the same idea.

When you add the portion that has been removed, the entire idea is changed, and entirely new doctrine is formed.
We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free, right? So if the truth we are studying from is waterer down and parts removed, then the freedom we walk in will never fully be achieved and therefore we miss out on the true potential of fellowship and communion we can have with God.

  2. Without contrition, there is no forgiveness. Many people escape accountability because they think they are saved in Jesus simply because they professed their faith from the mouth. But truly I tell you, unless you fully are converted and seek to make amends with those you offended, withstanding the full rebuke and pain you caused in the offended's suffering by your acts, you shall never enter the kingdom of heaven. It will be a case of "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness…You can not fool God. Many will be shocked at the very end to know Truth at their reckoning. You know not the hour or day. This is why the Act of Contrition is taught and encouraged so that you fully go through the process of what it means to ask and receive forgiveness. Also, you can say you forgive someone but it's kind of like saying you gave someone a blank check without the checks and balances to cash it. You can desire and want to forgive, and God loves you for that, but unless it is completed by the act of contrition and the conversion, then it is something unclaimed and unforgiven in the eyes of God. The presence of God's is in the state of Christ's communion and it requires the giver of forgiveness to be there, in persona Christi, full of grace and mercy, yet requires the bride to be fully present for the sacramental offering to be received. Many people who offend like the informal version of this because they lack the courage to face their offenses so they think it's not necessary to be present, but thats like the bridegroom (Jesus) standing at the alter for a wedding and his bride (church, you, me, us) getting cold feet. Ha! That's No wedding! No vow. No promise. No witness. Who are people kidding. So yeah it would make you seem foolish like having to proclaim to God and your church guests after a no-show like " yeah, God, I totally married that girl. Yup. We're totally married til death do us part."
