i don't know did this happened to anyone else but one time while just browsing he eshop on my japanese 3ds the theme was playing first was the up beat but then it changed it to the calm theme. I didn't don't anything i was just browsing through, and suddenly a different theme
Could the song change the more games you downloaded?
Did you download a bunch of games on your systems with the calm song?
And how about the system with the upbeat song … does this system has quite a number of games downloaded?
This would make sense to me why the song changes after some time for most people … because they download more and more games in time …
This is quite strange. I used to hear the “chill one”, but about two years ago it changed to the “upbeat one” and has stayed like that. New 2DS XL.
Edit: It must’ve been more than 2 years ago, but still true

My Original 3DS XL plays the September 2015 eShop theme (which I've had running in the background while I work because it's an absolute bop)
Maybe the chill one plays on 3DSes with more storage on the SD card? My 3DS havs like 13 blocks left on SD card and plays the "beat-up" one
I found out how to do this! (PLEASE NOTE YOU CANNOT UNDO THIS) Go to data management, Click on the 3ds button, Click on extra data and delete the eshop extra data. This only deletes the new music extra data and nothing else. Thats why some SD cards play the old music and some play the new one
If I remove my SD Card while the shop is opened, the song changes.
