Sea of Stars winning Best Indie was all I needed from this, and I got Visions of Mana, Metaphor, Persona 3, and a Jurassic Park game out of it!
This Game Awards had some good announcements but I really hate how little time the award winners got while celebrities dragged on the show with bad bits. Any time that there wasn’t a good game announcement felt like misery to me.

Some updates for games I was already interested in like Metaphor and Budokai Tenkaichi 4 but not as much new stuff, alsoI know these awards don't mean anything but Sea of Stars getting best indie was 100% fair.

Weird to see the GotY winner be a game that took its time and didn't suffer from crunch with a dev team that has a good work culture and gets respect from their ceo and made a game with no MTX or DLC thats still getting feedback from their community.

Hope to see Nico spend an episode or two on the new DLC for FFXVI Echoes of the Fallen. I just finished it and despite being short, it was actually fairly fun, added some nice extra world building and an epic final battle.
The game awards is the ultimate cringe fest. Barely any of the time is spent on the actual awards portion. Happy for BG3 but this show is definitely a dud

Damn, I feel like Nico really went hard on Tears of the Kingdom lmao, I'm happy BG3 won so much, but my man was not holding back on the TOTK slander, even when it won Action/Adventure, he sounded so unexcited lol. Nothing wrong with it of course, just found it a bit funny
Aside from being a VTuber, IronMouse probably also couldn't show up due to a condition she has which essentially makes it so it is extremely dangerous for her if she gets sick particularly with covid-19 which we've basically all largely forgotten about by now given it isn't so bad for the average person but for her something like that could still potentially kill her… And it probably just ain't worth showing up in person to accept an award only to then die for doing so… iirc she is also dependent on receiving blood plasma from time to time… More than any other VTuber out there I wouldn't expect her to show up in person, but also if she did people probably wouldn't recognize her aside from her voice… If anyone has an excuse it's her, lol…
I‘m glad Nico is down for Hi-Fi Rush as much as I am. That game became one of my all-time favourites, together with TotK this year.
And good on BG3 for winning! I’ve yet to play it, but heard nothing but good things about it.
Honestly, never been a huge fan of the game awards for how rigged the awards actually feel. Debut Indie award is my example of that this year, Cocoon wasn’t even a debut indie title, and I think a lot of people (Nico including) say that Pizza Tower should have won.
Still not a fan of TGA, but I'm glad BG3 won at least. Also, it's nice that those timestamps are so detailed.

Hearing Nico clear his throat every couple of minutes really brings this down for me, isn’t it just more polite to mute or turn away when you do stuff like that? For some people with sensitive hearing, that is a nightmare to listen to, especially with how sensitive his mic can be and how close he is.
