  1. apparently the refs come into the teams training facilities and goes over all the penalties and how to avoid them, this one you just need to make it look like you are rolling off the person.

  2. If I'm a defender I'm going to make sure the penalty is worth it if they're going to call it. More QBs will get hurt because defenders are fed up. This will have the opposite effect of what they're trying to stop.

  3. AQ is exactly right. The spirit of the rule was to keep guys hitting the QB from taking a simple tackle and turning it into a forceful drive into the ground. The wrap up and then really drive all your weight down on him to really make sure he feels it. It wasn't meant for the perfect tackle that causes the tackler to fall on the QB. The only way Jones doesn't fall on Carr is if he doesn't actually go through with the tackle. As they said, he loses no matter what he decided there. And what is worse is that it was such a great play by Jones that gets taken away because he was too good at doing it apperenty.

  4. Jerome Boger should be fired!!!!!,..the guy makes the most ridiculous calls ever, he made one call against Saints last year that cost them a “huge” opportunity to take a major lead and eventually cost them the game, he needs to go

  5. As a new football enthusiast hailing from Europe it feels like the rules of the game are made by drama writing school graduates whose stories always end in a last-second 120 yard Hail Mary TD pass. The level of protection the QB gets is insane, and those pass interference calls are just as sad. The window for the defender to make a legit play is extremely small. It's entertainment first, competitive sports second. The same seems to be the case with the NBA, defending is made almost impossible by the rules.

  6. Why would any kid want to be on the D-line these days? I wouldn't blame them for asking for a position change, or trying a different sport. This type of stuff is killing the game for some players, and genuinely impacting their earning power. Meanwhile, QB's are being given the "god mode" cheat code from the NFL, which is netting them huge paydays. This is a "team" sport right? Where is that "team" mentality when it comes to the $$$? Maybe the NFL should initiate position pay caps too, so that the money is getting spread around more fairly?

  7. There's just absolutely no consistency which is what people want and the officials just can't do it. It's just too difficult with just the guys on the fields making the calls.

  8. It’s more of a problem to me that they didn’t call RTP on that play w/ Pat being hit becus w/ Chris they already established you touch tha QB you getting flagged so Pat turns around & gets slammed later on in tha game & it’s no flag….

  9. Lamar Jackson got slung down over the weekend with no penalty being called. The color commentary stated maybe that's the difference in a running QB and a drop back passer. 🤣

  10. Making roughing reviewable would require the the league rule committee to write standards for roughing, which would be a start. Then we'd have to pass through a "catch rule" situation, arguing about the standard, but even that would be progress.

  11. I mean we all realize the NFL is like the WWE right? Why you think Vince wanted a football league? This is the first time I’ve seen the Brady one too. Jesus. Makes it that much more obvious.

  12. As a Miami fan I didn’t think they should start Tua against Cincy, but go watch the tackle on Tua when he got hurt…he was WHIPPED to the ground! That was a penalty but not called and who was the ref? Jerome Booger. Even though Miami should not have started Tua that game, the Cincy player had him in the grasp then smashed him to the turf. Players need to be more aware and respective of their fellow players, teams need to stop putting the players in harms way, and the refs need to call the penalties that should be called to enforce the rules and set a standard. I almost guarantee that Boger was sat down and told that the sack on Tua is/was a penalty and he better get it right, but the problem then becomes he blew a call and now is overcompensating. Whatever, reds have sucked for as long as I can remember.

  13. THIS IS WHAT RUINED THE GAME??????? NOT non stop commercials- NOT close up of sweaty males faces after EVERY play?
NOT all the stupid show boating? Glad I DO NOT waste my time anymore watching a 60 min game that is roughly 16 mins of actual playing time (less) but takes 4 HOURS.  I did try to watch just the highlights (?) on U tube but whoever edits that crap thinks highlights are all the show boating. NFL sucks now. 20 years ago I was watching every game I could paying my mortgage betting,
going to Vegas 2-3 times a year to bet. Now can't tell you the last game I watched. I do try the high lights still but hardly ever make the whole video. Not even the SB that was the first game I stopped watching
