Winter can be a dull and damp time, but occasionally, through the gloom and cold comes a day that makes the heart sing and the wonder of The Nature in all her sublime beauty come into focus.
I was lucky enough to experience one such day last November- Gaz and me headed off to the woods for a walk, not expecting to find the opportunity to experience Newton Dale in all its winter wonder. The combination of snow and low lying cloud made for an ethereal winter spectacle, the landscape somehow been made a fresh, an untouchable vision of what could be and perhaps what we will find once we leave this life behind….
Please take time to enjoy this film, I hope it gives you a sense of the wonder the Nature can bring. I really hope it brings you a sense of calm and peace. I would advise finding a quiet space and getting a big screen and a good set of headphones! Take a few deep breaths, let you body relax and enjoy the journey!
The music is a Royalty free recording of Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. It is one of my favourite pieces of music. It is a live performance by The US Army Strings and I am very grateful for its recording. It can be found here-

The poem at the start is my own, a homage to the greats of the 18-19th century.
I have blended the music with the footage to produce a visual poem, in which I explore the feeling and exhilaration time spent in The Nature can bring.
Please enjoy.
