New World – Update On Current Issues

New World, issues are being resolved, staff are communicating effectively and openly. Is it enough? Lots of incremental changes being talked about, some that are really great and others that are a little heavy handed.

  1. I still think what they need to do is shut down the game to do an extensive overhaul. Maybe not to the level of Final Fantasy XIV, but a lot of the issues are so deeply rooted in the code they need to do more than the bandages they've been applying.

  2. @KiraTV I think people are missing a key point (a very macro point) in the trading post shenanigans @ 4:09 – They had it as intended right, each territory with their own economy but don't miss out on what is actually happening. Players are being customers and speaking with their dollar (breaking the system), they are all choosing to do business in ONE town because that town was, A: centrally located and B: had the best crafting stations.. You can say it "devalues the idea of what the game world exists to do" economically but while you are not wrong, you gotta think bigger picture on what is happening, they had already devalued inherently by not looking ahead at how players (customers in these towns) would behave..also the entire elite zone and area placements, i.e the world itself!

I think there are too many systems in play that devalued the current system of segregated auction houses.. Think about it in order of operations:
–Where do I as a player want to store my items and have my biggest house? Middle of the map if possible + maxed stations. Check.
–Where do I as a company want to own a territory to make the most profit? Middle of the map if possible to get the most traffic. Check
–Who, (in theory since there are war breaking bugs) is able to keep maxed stations in their town? The best company in the server usually can defend, maintain and keep stations maxed.

Everyone wants to be in the central hub with their items for sale, to have exposure to as many buyers as possible.. The game design already cuts the legs off MOST if not all outer map perimeter territories.. There is no incentive to be there thus the stations are never too viable at all, which leads to no profit and loss of gold to even contest/declare wars. This is an endless design cycle, flaw, exacerbated by the land mass/geography.

And then, the nail on the coffin! (which obviously wasn't needed since players have already centralized): We are gonna give you 350 azoth to lose an invasion in 5 minutes. We are also going to give you 200 azoth for a 30 minute (MAX) outpost rush game which sometimes can be over in 5-10 minutes depending on when you joined.
-Who wants free teleports, any takers; please by all means go teleport to the center of the map to dump all your war spoils and give the ONE town all taxes…

I bet you don't wanna even discuss the fact we both know, as per developer comments, that you will be able to BUY azoth from the cash shop, within a years time.. Which literally brings me back to your original quote "devalues the idea of what the game world exists to do".

(Edit) TL:DR The map they created, the resource spawns locations, the chest locations, the elite zone locations, the named boss locations; ALL inherently devalued the idea of what the game world intended to do and they just completely missed it! It's crazy to me tbh this isn't discussed more often. If you wanted The leftmost territory to have as much of a fighting chance as your rightmost territory (to survive, thrive and be profitable), THEN you have to provide it with EQUAL sources of elites, farm materials, incentive incentive incentive in a """distance"""" metric. This new auctionhouse decision isn't taking away from what the game world exists to do, the game world itself took away from what Amazon intended the town ownership/economy system to be.

  3. Making the auction house global makes some ressources less valuable in one town where you can't get it. Or say Lv. 30 weapons in the start areas. I made so much gold with Lv. 30 equipment in the starting areas because many players keep playing there even after reaching level 25-30 but won't get good equipment anymore. That's where I come in. I buy the level 30 stuff from the AH in the higher level towns, bring it to the low level towns and sell it for 500% the gold price. It works. They get the equipment and I get my gold 😀

  4. Very glad the AH is going global…it was getting tedious to walk to one storage to another to put excess items and to put on a market that no one is going to buy from, since those areas were mostly dead and quiet where market purchases were concerned. It will negate the reason of why I need to travel to another storage unit. Knowong that everyone will now see these items im placing, from a far off town.

  5. On the contrary we should be hoping it crashes and burns spectacularly so hopefully these studios will get the message about releasing unfinished garbage.

  6. They really need to add a way to sort inventory or a way to bundle armors and weapons. I'm at the point of the game where I have a lot of stuff and it's annoying to look for the specific item I want since everything looks the same.

  7. Yeah I hit lvl 31 and just lost interest, even the guys I play with stopped playing around that lvl. It just became stale and boring but it did inspire me to play Witcher 3 on pc for the first time since it was launched on console.

  8. The pve questing in this game was pretty abysmal. I found the most sanity saving way to level, for me atleast, gain half a level by doing side quests, the other half of the level bar by doing town boards. Because you will literally be doing the same exact pve town quests at level 50, that you were at level 5

  9. Still haven't heard anything on this — Is there any interaction between clearing corrupted breaches and the frequency/strength of an invasion? If not, then why not? These PvE game mechanics clearly should interact.

  10. I prefer the global auction house as it would cost me bulk Azoth moving items between areas to sell. It seemed to me that you were deliberately given a low amount of Azoth cap (1000 in my opinion is low) so that the developer could sell you a solution (IE. higher Azoth cap) in the future. Because of this I welcome the global auction house.
