New World: How To Invest Attribute Points! ALL Common Weapon Combinations!

Attribute points are one of the more discussed topics in New World. There are a variety of different playstyles with different weapon combinations and some of them have more synergy than others. For example, the Musket, Bow, Spear, Sword, Hatchet and Rapier all scale with Dexterity to some degree. Similarly, the Great Axe, War Hammer, Sword, Hatchet and Spear all scale with Strength. The Fire Staff, Ice Gauntlet, Rapier and Musket scale with Intelligence. And only the life staff scales with focus. But not all weapons scale with all stats equally, since some have primary and secondary attributes. So what does that mean people wanting to combine 2 weapons with different scalings? And how much should you invest into constitution as a tank or mage? And how do things differ between PvP and PvE? This video aims to answer all of these questions and more!

  1. Everytime I watch a DukeSloth video I feel like I've gained knowledge <3 it's a shame I'm a lifestaff main and my role can be filled by a potato with bendy-straws for arms, otherwise these tips would enable me to become quite a skilled player

  2. I have an idea 💡 but am curious as to how the attributes will scale. To make a long story short: hatchet/bow with gems that convert physical damage to magic damage.

I'll use hatchet as an example. How will the hatchet scale? Will it get benefits from strength (.9), dexterity (.65), and INT (???) and what percentage for int?

  3. Great video as usual. Thank you for the great content. I now know it’s possible to use a mage weapon with a str based weapon and still be viable. Ice Gauntlet Great Axe combo with the Great Axe getting the Int gem. Or maybe a hatchet haha the possibilities are endless and exciting! Appreciate all you do for the community!

  4. Great video! Would love a video on key words and their meanings. I.e Bleed, Grit, haste etc. I know a few but having a video where it's all collected would be amazing. As well as hearing your opinions on them.
    Keep up the great content!

  5. thank you man for the hard work, even if my brain hurts at the end of each guide, i love you btw i was talking with some friends and somone joking suggested a Hammer/musket build, where the primary atribute is going to be the musket, and the hammer is just to keep them away, BUT then, someone suggested, is not the best here to go int and use int gems in both weapons?

  6. Really hope AGS addresses the Hatchet issues in the Throwing tree. I'm so lost on how i should place my attributes and what alternate weapon combo to run with Throwing Hatchet, as the attribute breakpoints dont benefit throwing hatchet at all. They dont scale with light attacks, for some bizarre reason, and arn't affected by the 5% bonus gains to it – nor are they increased by the DEX breakpoint increase to Thrust damage bonuses – where is this spec supposed to fall, i wonder?

  7. I kinda want to run great axe/warhammer and rapier, would it be viable to use the rapier as a set up for those? I'm thinking 150 constitution, but what about dexterity vs strength?

  8. Is it really that important to max/main stat constitution as a tank? I feel like the brawler stat build with sword and shield, with maybe life staff or great axe would be sufficient in tank most PVE if not all

  9. I'm really glad that you found a new game that you're interested in, but are you ever going to go back to smite? I used to watch every video you posted and you were my main source for smite information and it's just been absolute dead air.

  10. @dukesloth hi great vid as always one question:
let's say someone would invest Attribute Points mostly for the gathering boni not for fighting what's the best one in your opinion?
with 250 for 10% yield increase u can get 2 of them at max 500. what would you pick and why? or should even a 100% gatherer ignore the 10% bonus for better dmg scaling against pve? (pvp will be ignored the whole game 😉 )

  11. As a tank i like to dump 100 con and 50 dex. Gear will not give me dex and a lot of keenly perks are rly good. Plus taking the sword passive +10% crit change gives me even more. The last 40 pts will be unspent till i know what gear i will get to get the both, the next str and con threshold bonus.
