New World Gypsum Expertise System Update! MASSIVE Improvements!



New World Developer update. Gypsum & Expertise High Watermark System Rework. Changes like gypsum orbs crafting time have lower cooldowns reducing materials required for end game! Taxes lowered and gold cost reduced by 99%. Expertise system changes will now scale up faster leveling and items will be exempt from the expertise system reduction if you crafted the item yourself, earned it from a quest, or bought it from a faction vendor! Your items you have not will also not be effected by the changes for expertise prior to the patch but only will be affected for sold or traded items after the patch! This means that everything you have now will stay the same! Great work to everyone taking to the forums and putting in feedback on the ptr to get things working right! These changes will make for faster expertise or water mark progression and increases the minimum and maximum progress bump when you get an item upgrade!

  1. The Reddit right now is full of comments that prove a bunch of people will never be satisfied and literally only want to complain. People complained about watermarking system, so AGS overhauled it, proposed changes, players didn't like part of those changes, so AGS promptly rolled back the part that people complained about. And now players are saying that's indicative of an abusive relationship. If you're one of those people, you are the abuser, not AGS.

    I like everything they changed except this. It's basically only rewarding those who got full voidbent and 600gs weps already.

  3. I have mixed feelings about all this, I like that AGS is listening, but I really don’t like that a new lvl 60 player can buy a decent 600 gs (that will be 550) for 5-10k. Right now is even worse and that’s why people don’t feel that the game has endgame, everyone is running with legendary without doing none of the content (we can argue about it but gen/laz/elite zones are the endgame). I personally prefer how it was before this change, maybe give some gear for crafters BoP

  4. Updates like this makes me regain hope that New World will pull out a No Man's Sky and if I waited for NMS to be the great game is now, I'm sure as hell will give NW a chance too.

  5. You say that people will be capping out super fast because you can get multiple orbs a day. There is still a wait time on casts. That will mean we’ll need ~35 days from 500 to 600 on a single item. We’ll just be able to grind all armor or multiple weapons every day with that many orbs.

This halfway better plan is better so my gear watermark is like 540ish so if I get new equipment at 600 from market it will give me 570 gear score on those items and once you get the Expertise up to 560 it will be 580 and Expertise at 580 will make a 600 gear a 590. But having all the perks unmolested Is great

  7. While I'm glad they reverted some of these changes, I can't help but think they actually tried to fuck us with it until we made noise, and someone had to come up with these systems. Just wait until they add raids.
