New World – 15 Things You Need To Know Before You Buy

Amazon Games’ New World has had quite a long journey in development, first being announced in September 2016 and set to release on August 31st for PC.

With how difficult it can be to create an MMO, much less one that commands attention away from titles like World of Warcraft, what does a subscription-free New World have going for it? Let’s take a look at 15 things you should know before buying.

  1. it is like f2p mmo games… and they will give a lot of items with amazon prime… everybody know that. it should be f2p. not bad but not so good.

  2. It felt like a double A game… It's a good base, but it just doesn't feel like it had a multi million dollar budget like other triple A games do, let alone one made by a trillion dollar company. Running animation was janky, quest dialog was only a sentence or two, no really fun quests, they were all 'go kill 10 boars' etc. Extremely grindy game also which has me worried about microtransaction skips. Its not a bad game, and it's only 40 bucks, but it does feel like a 40 dollar game. Just skeptical of the future with microtransactions.

  3. I'm pretty sure with everything that's going on with blizzard and EA and the fact that more than half their subscription base stopped playing pretty sure it's safe to say that any MMO at this point in time can take you away from world of Warcraft

  4. my gut tells me this will be a short lived game that will have a lot of players for the first 3-6 months but then loses 80% of them because they cant deliver more and engaging content….and the b2p model from amazon doesnt instill me with confidence that amazon views this long term… maybe they want to just cash in and recover the losses from all their failed game projects and will be done with gaming in general after this (since they dont seem to have any other projects on the horizon and no one seems to like their engine)

  5. well done but if you are not impacted by social pressure you quickly realize that it's an empty shell, social interactions fill that void for a honeymoon period. Maybe when the lvl cap reach 100 it will be less of a snoozefest with much better combay and a bit more than 3 skills to play healer.

  6. kinda boggle my mind that they don't have a pet/summoner class in the game, what with all the exotic wildlife and nature connected magic that's available.

  7. Played so hard the beta. Its really fun. The combat its AAA, you never expect from a MMORPG. The graphics are fantastic. The progression system its sort of Skyrim , you always can change your weapon and role. The PvP its the best, like Pandaria's World of Warcraft.
Really deserves 40 bucks, you dont need a subcription like Wow or FFXIX.
I think Amazon gonna blow the entire MMO ecosystem.
The best thing I can say about this game: time goes so fast when you play it, no matter what you doing
