Those already in skilled working route five year’s route what about for those what is this?
It's been quite difficult since 2011. It's already 5 or 10 years for spouses and partners depending when the applicant arrived. Spouses already need English skills before coming to the UK. My concern is that older applicants will struggle with the Life in the UK test especially if they have health issues.
What about spouse visas any updates pls
Every time when Tories messed up economy / illegal immigrates they try to attract votes by restricting legal / skilled visa for residence.

If their migrant parents did not make the sacrifices they made to ensure that they can now be called British, we would not be having these conversations sadly.
Only thing will happen is students will stop coming as well as NHS and other professionals coming as well. Then other countries will open borders grab all. Already Australia has started.
This is an absolute blunter. This step will only discourage back off skilled immigrants from coming to uk and the jobs on shortage lists to go high. If the government's real objective is to reduce illegal immigrants to uk, this is not something fair step any government should take.
Already uk with its increased cost pf living, inflation and diminished values and increased crime rates and racism, seems to be one of the unattractive places for a skilled foreign workers. That being said, the new government rules which is not focusing on effective measures to reduce illegal immigration and at the same time discouraging skilled immigration is a strange and condemnable approach.
I hope the government will be responsible, fair and a role model to other nations on these issues.
Professional people will not consider uk in future if they increase to 8years. They will prefer other countries.

One thing a lot of persons never knew uk has never been a fancy destination for Migrants especially from Africa and I guess the flow of migrants to the uk was because of psw policy made by Boris Johnson’s regime and if the new law stand it will only discourage people from coming to the uk cause uk has other factors that made it less attractive like high cost of living , rasciam and migrants not being able to get the type of Job they want with ease.
Isn't any policy change is that proposed by the serving home secretary and the home office officials are tasked to implement and not to propose?
