  1. Beasts are interesting. We have lots of trails in the lore:
    A new Greatfray.
    Named characters for each greatfray.
Talk of something burbling up from the Gavespawn holy site in Ghyran.
The turnskin curse going through Dawnbringer settlements creating new gaves.
Descriptions of more animal hybrids and a super swol Doombull.

They have loads of avenues to explore, and I think they’ll go for the turnskin angle. They’ve mentioned shark head beasts so they could have flavours of other armies in there.

On the other hand, we have Beastmen as one of the 8 factions in The Old World, and therefore confirmed kits for that, so that may be the extent of what happens 🤷‍♂️

  2. Long shot: the war in the realm of beasts ends when the Kurnothi emerge and kick everyone out of their house.

But seriously, those beast elves are cool, and we haven't seen enough of them.

  3. Have we completely given up on Kurnothi?

"Realm elementals controlled by destruction wizards" seems like a great pitch for reimagined bonesplitterz.

Rather than a new line of stormcast, could they not simply resculpt the first wave for 4.0? They're old enough at this point, I'm sure they've made their money back.

I don't think KO should be combined with fyreslayers, but I'd love to see Fyreslayers + Ironslayers as a Mawtribes style army.

Final out of nowhere army pitch: fairies. Destruction army thats like goblins + Sylvaneth.

  4. I feel like the large success of Chaos Dwarves in the Total War games may factor in here. They have a whole faction worth of models 3D rendered already, I can’t help but think that might ease new models? Just a thought from someone who didn’t know anything about Chaos Dwarves prior to Total War WH3 and who would love painting them now.

  5. Thinking of new armies reminds me of an (admittedly buckwild) idea I had for a new army a while ago, but I don't think I have the game knowledge or attention span to make something presentable of it.

But the idea was called "Neoneth Hyshguilds" and they would be a group of cyberpunk aelves living in Ulgu and they sold light to the other inhabitants of the realm to fight off the omnipresent gloom. Their units would be fantasy'd up cyberpunk tropes with magitek powered by morally-ambiguously procured Hyshian realmstone.

  6. 1:11:18 Vince I’d love to see a walk through of your Skaven army, actually all you armies! But Skaven being your favourite army (think I’m right I’m saying that), would be amazing 🤘❤️

  7. So few things, the Umbraneth are already out in AoS. The Darkling Covens, Scourge, Dok etc all refer to themselves as Umbraneth.

I have a feeling honestly that Malerion will end up being a part of DoK, change the name of the book to Umbraneth and bam….

  8. As someone who loves beasts, and flip flops between them and fec being my main army, I do not want them to lean into the "x god type of beastmen", I like the army of anarchic, tribal, beast guys in the woods, I don't want to be discount s2d. I think they should really lean into a dark, folk horror kind of feel. Twisted and savage beastfolk dwelling in the old places of the world, using primordial magics. They already did a cool thing with introducing the turnskin curse, which gives me a cool folklore kind of feel, just lean into that more. I also really want the beasts to primarily stay twisted "farm" animals, I say add some pigmen too while they're at it

  9. I'd love to see a bug people army very similar to the Mantid/Klaxxi from world of Warcraft. A proper, civilized culture of bug people, the complete opposite of Tyranids, but very alien in their way of thinking, as well as unique in their armor and weaponry.

  10. A beast tamers faction for destruction. Mysterious humanoids cloaked like the Aiel who control monsters within an aura. The sub factions being various biomes. But the focus would be very monster centric but not rider centric. So cavalry of like massive lions but if the controls die or are out of range the monsters have more unpredictable destructive nature, etc.

  11. Combining dwarf factions in a single battletome to "fix" Fyreslayers is a really really bad idea…. Why is this even a thing?? All that needs to be done in future dwarf battletomes is to MAYBE give the specific factions special rules to add additional dwarves from outside their faction – like they did with Barak Thryrang in the 2nd KO battletome.

Personally my KO army has no interest in putting up with those religious zealot Fyreslayers mucking things up in my army lol.

  12. Okay, for Stormcast I’d like to see them do a couple of things:

    – Giants/Golems basically say Stormcast eventually have to be interred in colossal suits of armour and they’re your knight analogue. Same size as a mega gargant. Think the Talos from Greek myth.

    – Odin cavalry. Take Odins six legged horse and put a Stormcast on it.

    – Have a chamber that leans entirely into the Amazonian angle.

    – Redo the older Liberator and Paladin kits to bring them in line with new ascetic.

  13. GIMME MY SILENT ONES GW! They may be silent, but I will not be!

Yes, I know we are just now getting a healthy dose of space bugs, but I want my AoSified Ahn'Qiraji/Nerubians/Mantids! If we got that I would be over the moon. It would be real awesome if they were a new Destruction faction too, to not only pad out the GA, but to add more factions that don't fall into the homogeneous, Gorkamorka camp. GW needs to get the ants out of the pants and on to the table already!

    PS MORE EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!

  14. This is always a fun topic. I love thinking of new factions

I would love another human faction. Something that is distinct.

I love the Tarkir Dragon Khan setting from MTG. I wish we could get something similar in AOS. Feels like we passed the dragons to stormcast. Wouldn't have to be humans any sort of animalfolk could do (I like pandarians for example)

I think an insect race could also be interesting. Maybe destruction that consumes. I think I just described Tyranids.

I would love some monster based order faction. Like wolves, dragons, eagles, etc.

Last I think we need a full time pirate faction. Vampire coasts, maneaters whatever. Put them on airships I don't care. People love pirates. Go wild… Make halfling pirates

  15. I know I have posted this before but it is very relevant to the topic this week. I want classic hold dwarves. It really irks me that all I have is some really lame units in cities that may be going to legends. Classic dwarves were pretty popular in WH Fantasy. I think there is a market there. If we get yet another elf army and still no hold dwarves I am going to be salty. I may just rebase my old fantasy dwarves and play them as Fyreslayers. In fact almost all the units would be easier to tell apart than the real army. Slayers as Hearthguard, handweapon and shield guys are exactly that ect..

  16. Gobbo sky pirates as a concept is so much more interesting to me than KO. I think that if it was done right that faction would print money for GW.

  17. I am really glad you mentioned Incarnates and Elementals. They would be my dream army, and I think you can make it as cohesive as you'd like. You are right, making it go beyond "The 4 Elements in big monsters" would be good. Elementals for each of the 8 Realms would be rad. I would love to see all the other Incarnates, just….not as stupid and broken. lol

As well, Rogue Wizards/Collegiate Arcane as either part of the Elementals or even their own force would be great. A Wizards and their creations of AoS would be amazing. Do that AND Elementals and I might just have my main armies for life. lol

But yeah, Dark Elves? Absolutely. Chaos Dwarves? Eventually. Tyrion? Just more Lumineth…I hope. lol The less Elves the better, but at least give them the stuff that has been pointed towards. I would LOVE a twist in new edition, withOUT Stormcast on the starter set and have, say, Dark Elves be the "good" guys versus a revamped Skaven? That would be a FANTASTIC box. But…assuming Stormcast DO get the vibe (I am hoping a repeat-ish of what Leviathan is doing and do mostly reimagining of older sculpts) alongside some Skaven Eshin? Oh, I am THERE.

  18. I want a combined arms death army. I thought OBR would be like that but the new book focuses more on the hyper melee elite army aspect and stripped all synergies from the catapult. So maybe like vampirates or a new IP?
