Let's Play Crusader Kings 3 Tours & Tournaments | CK3 Gameplay Toulouse to France Roleplay Episode 4

Join me in my Crusader Kings III Let’s Play with the Tours & Tournaments expansion! In this campaign we’ll be playing within the Kingdom of France as Duke Guilhem V (or William IV) of Toulouse. Our goal will be to rise to the rank of king and eventually ensure all of France is under our enlightened control. This will be a roleplay series, where our characters’ personality traits will dictate our decisions and actions.

I discuss my reasoning and strategy as I play, thus this walkthrough could serve as a tutorial or guide.

You can purchase Tours & Tournaments on Steam

  1. Only thing I can think to do to win this war is to go after the faction leader's capital, which would require two miracles: first that the enemy armies don't attack us before we finish the siege; and second that the faction leader is in his capital rather than leader his troops, and that we actually capture him after the siege.

  2. Maybe, as an idea, you could target the vassals of the person who claims your wife's duchy. It weakens the powerful vassals and splits up the land more. While I like the idea of killing the person who claims the territory, the people who are causing the most trouble are the powerful vassals. Another separate idea is that you could kill any claimants to your wife's duchy. If there are no claimants, there are no claimant factions to be formed. That's just my two thoughts. Really enjoying the series! Been waiting for this a long, long time.

    Edit: spelling

  3. This war is most likely end with your wife's getting deposed and your son getting her tiltes though if this happens to your son you are most likely going to get his titles when he's deposed fixing this mess.

  4. I'm with you, dude! In addition, brave can mean so many things – bravely engaging in an orgy, bravely attending a feast, bravely marrying a bride with a super-dowry…

  5. You´re definetly right about the zealous thing. Many who went on the first crusade were certainly zealous but they were pretty far from being good christians.

  6. Is there a reason you aren't trying to manage those wars by using your intrigue and bumping off the rival war leader?

I think you can imprison the rival who tried to kill you.

That smart person you rejected for your brother…she is a child, maybe she would make a good betrothed for your son?

I am really enjoying this, even more than I usually enjoy your Let's Plays.

  7. Completely agree with your perspective on zealous people. Some people's zealotry is what drives them to be complete hypocrites. The Crusaders are perfect examples of religious zealots being hypocrites.

  8. I dont think you should worry so much about how ppl think on how traits are suppose to be. Because RP campaign is all about how you interpret what these Traits mean. Everyone has thier own way. For Example Brave on your Character, It could mean he's being Brave stepping down from leading his troops because he knows he isnt as good. But for someone else, They may think Brave trait means always leading the army. I tend to go with the first example. I am here to see your interpretations of the traits not anyone elses.

  9. Love the campaign!
    Two questions.
I understand not using the marriage to knights exploit. But do they have to be single forever? I often start a long string of more and more generations of knights all from one.

Also . Why not take out the vassal starting all the rebellions. I think its the same guy. Seems to be a jerk.
