55 there's the bones of a really good story here. Should have been called "Those who run" and it should have been from the POV of various ambassadors talking about l amongst themselves.
The 10 year chase was just dumb. Beautifully symbolic, but dumb. Humans show up in force, we are pack hunters. If live to see this story put though the discipline required to go into an actual print magazine or anthology.
55 chase mistranslated into run, a small galactic google translate error? A very good HFY story. 😻
terrans rule!
55, I am an old lady. I discovered what really was Science Fiction because of Star Trek. Classic Star Trek. Oh, I'd seen the Hammer and other movies which were often a kind of science horror, but real Science Fiction was Star Trek. I discovered then what I had been doing in my head was an actual thing. Oh, you know, I'd heard of Verne and Wells, I wasn't unfamiliar with their stories, but those didn't resonate with me. Now, this 70 year old lady has been discovering stories on YouTube and I am LOVING them! Thank you!

The end makes so much sense. Those who run, my ass.
55.
I love that story, and though you are not the first to tell it, I enjoyed it again!
You had me until the 25 minute mark.
Hey, can you put ~10 second of silence after the story and before you ask us to subscribe? Would feel wayyy better
Those who run? I was expecting those who live/survive/adapt/build.
But i, understanding human biology, take 'run' to be the term for their hunting strategy. To run longer than others.
The story is called "Those Who Run"? Well, humans do run. But it's because of the thrill of the chase. We humans are built to relentlessly chase our prey. Because of the way we live currently, most have become lazy or forgotten that it's in all of us. With proper training, we can relearn how to do this. It doesn't take long, because it's in our DNA.
Great story. 55
Why do people keep typing 55 in the comments?
Great story and a fitting voice.
Humanity is defined by its relentlessness as much as its ruthlessness.
A little rough but not too bad. A little underwhelming though for a half hour narration.
