Never leave your power armor at settlements if you don’t want this to happen. I don’t use power armor but I like to collect them. I never have red rocket as a settlement bc I keep my collection of power armor there.

I had this happen to me and i assumed the dude who took the armor also scrapped it, so i blew him up with a fatman
I had a suit of institute xo1 that I found in a mod and it randomly disappeared I found out irl days later that a provisienor found and stole it from my playerhome
The settler has the armour in their inventory, trade with them 🙂
Just take the fusion cores out simple fix
Sigh, Ask the settler who used your armor to trade and you will find those missing pieces among their inventory.I would bet my wife on it 🙂
Also you can leave any PA in any settlement if you remove the fusion core no one will take any of it.

If you take the fusion core out of the frame settlers won't get in it
Never leave them with a power core attached. Or outside a power armor station.
I never use PA. I have over 4k hours in a single playthrough (lvl 940+) and I have over 100 PAs on display in Starlight Drive In settlement. It's an impressive mech army, with every single piece with a custom legendary effect, my personal rendition of terracotta soldiers. I'm thinking of building a mausoleum there in the Institute colors like my PA army, of course.
Edit: killing BoS is a very profitable business, btw…

try trading with the npc could ve in the inventory if they break the armor

I still don't get the problem if you can tell them to get out
I just leave the frames and stick the armor in a chest. I have like 15 frames staked up bare at Sanctuary.

Lucky i don’t use power armor
Its a game glitch. Preston can wear it in sanctuary hills and no armor goes missing, or if you allocate power armor to settlement guards it remains on.
The game is programmed if the settlement is under attack
Sattler can use your weapons ammo
And hard earned 😅 power armor
Which honestly sucks
I have restarted my character I'm thinking to build my HQ in an empty from settlers
Or some how secure from settlers

I have a power armor display area 5 sets all awesome paints looks really cool plus my workshop in Sanctuary looks like Alleycat just have an armor junkyard sitting around pieces that I am messing with. I take all the fusion cores out of them and just leave them in a near by chest no one takes them.

The armor pieces might be in the settlers inventory
Just make sure your settlement is all good n you wouldn't have this issue I got about 10 sets with cores in em n never once had this problem
Better to leave it where it will cause traffic jams for npcs
Never had this happen to me thats odd i knew they take the armor but thats why i take out the power core since settlers dont have one

I usually leave them at the modification stance thing. The orange framework. There it will be left alone.

Just take the fusion core out of them.
I never had this problem. Just take out the Fusion Core and settlers can't use it. It solves the problem.
