Th is an excellent hire. He is no experiment. Solid program building skills shown, big on development and trench play, exactly what we need. He most likely keeps Mickie and Bill and we roll. THemost important hires he makes are the O line and D line coaches. Then the S & C coach. Then the OC and DC.

Read most comments and overall seems like most are unhappy with hire. From what I know of our hire he has two rebuilds that would be considered successful. Thought that was a main concern for our next hire. We don't even know what staff he will have. Could be an incredible staff, Could be unimpressive. Think we need to see what happens before we commit to being Debbie downers
Question how does a new coach establish himself as the leader if the team has an established leader? I want Mickey to stay but will it cause Alpha dog problems?
His first priority should be to win some games.
Mickey was my choice so I’d be disappointed no matter the coach if it wasn’t him. He took a team of quitters and made them fighters. He changed the culture and had the fans support. Experience doesn’t always beat heart. Nebraska just can’t get out of its own way regardless the subject
I would love to see Mickey retained on the staff and lead recruiter!! I would like to see Rhule reach out to a guy like Paul Chryst who is an excellent offensive coordinator!! He knows the Big Ten and would pound the ball with a good play action game!! Combine that with Rhule’s o line experience and let Mickey get some talent at WR and RB…maybe I’m dreaming but that sounds like a nice recipe to me!!
Now this is just my opinion I don't like the hire I keep hearing how he doesn't like to get out there and recruit and if that is the case we are in trouble but I have been a Nebraska fan since 1980 and I am here to support the team and we will have to wait and see how this goes.

The coaching is not the problem, it's the recruiting in the Big 10 sucks
Like to see Micky stay, BUT…Rhule needs to flush the toilet and and get rid of all the crap. The athletes are there, but their development is the responsibility of the coaches, and appears to me…they failed!
I was really hoping that Mickey was hired. But, I'm ready to "Roll with Rhule". I think the turnaround will be faster here than his other college stops. Next year is a soft schedule and as bad as this year was, they could've won 7 games (Wisconsin, Minnesota and Georgia Southern.) Losing Casey and Trey will be huge.
Go Big Red! I can't wait til his press conference and I can't wait to find out who his assistants will be!

Remember Mike Riley? A previous NFL loser that failed to get a winning record at Nebraska. So let's hire another NFL loser who was fired. Huskers have the dumbest A.D. in football. Even gave loser Rhule a 8 years contract they'll have to pay out when they fire him half way through.
Rhule washed out of pros and was 47 – 43 college and could not beat ranked teams and Mickey leaving it going to suck
I'm a USC fan and alum, but my brother went to Nebraska in the 90s. I grew up watching Tom Osbourne teams. Derek Brown, Calvin Jones, Tommy Frazier. Get back to Glory with Rhule! Go Big Red! ✌✌✌✌✌
He will build it to a 6-6 team which is a step up.
Mickey must stay, also I would like Busch in some capacity ,I was really impressed with how he shored up the Husker D ,so I really want him to stay as well.
In all likelihood yes, many of Rhules assistants in Carolina will be on the move after the season and a handful have already either resigned or were fired by the Panther Organization. Whoever is hired by the Panthers (probably won't be Steve Wilks) will likely bring their own staff in.
You guys have made me more exciting about Matt Rhule. Those NFL draftees are impressive and would be good for Nebraska to have that kind of development. I also think keeping Mickey will help him out a lot. I hope hope hope. GBR!
Rhules done some good things with crap teams, but I'm in charlotte and they all hate him. They all having been telling me he'll do well, but im very skeptical.
I truly hope we can get some wins and some real talent coming to rebuild our absolutely devastated program.
Rhule's acceptance speech was actually really great. Acknowledging the greatest fans in football defin swung me to have hope.
We all love Husker football, and all of our sports to be honest,
He has some connections with alot nfl people, so NIL is a perfect way to help recruiting. The players need to have a chance to make it, and there are fantastic opportunities in Lincoln.
We need to help them all succeed. Support them and the players

Not a Nebraska fan but I think Rhule is a hell of a hire. Can't hold his NFL time against him, the NFL is such a different animal.
