My house was destroyed, and we're on the other side of the state, Ian was supposedly down to a tropical storm by the time it go here (which is difficult for me to believe, I've seen cat 2 and 3 hurricanes hit here directly and it did nowhere near this much damage) — and it's scary to think, if our house and everything in it is destroyed, and so many other houses on this side of the state are in that situation, it's scary to think about what everyone along the path of this thing are going through right now.
My advise from Katrina….Get a POD and sort it all out later….we had to get an insurance attorney to get everything we lost……AllState. The insurance company has to pay attorney fees. DONT THROW AWAY EVERYTHING…..THE DISASTER CLEAN UP PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU THRIW EVERYTHING AWAY! NO! PUT IT IN A POD! THATS YOUR STUFF…FLOOD INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER ANYTHING ( YOUR STUFF) ON THE FIRST FLOOR. You will be so mad to see the trolls going through your stuff and hauling it away!!!!! YOU CAN GO THROUGH IT LATER!!! JUST RINSE OFF YOUR METAL OBJECTS LIKE YOUR BIKES AND LAWN FURNITURE. ANYTHING ELECTRICAL NEEDS TO GO. BEAUTIFUL EXPENSIVE LAMPS CAN BE REWIRED……..
I'm so sad to see this! My heart goes out to everyone. My mom lives in Cape Coral. She stayed through the storm and is ok but it was bad. She says she'll never do that again. My heart is broken. I have so many memories from visiting Fort Myers beach & Sanibel many times over the years. 😢

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏🔥 🕊️
Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Jesus is worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.💖🙏🕊️🔥

Everyone needs rent relief. So many jobs lost. Cars destroyed. Gas scarce. Businesses (employers) no longer exist. No way for a lot of people to pay rent. And those in my situation (looking for a job) are going to have a much more difficult time finding one. Many people are going to have no choice but to leave the area. Others that evacuated, or left, will never come back. No tourism left with FMB, Sanibel, etc being completely destroyed. Houses that were being built have been destroyed. Housing contracts canceled because of it and this hurricane. Rent prices need to come back down to “normal” levels…ie $1200-$1500 per month for 2b/2b. The greed needs to stop right now due to this catastrophe. Many do not understand the big picture due to this hurricane.
I dont think too many people feel too sorry for these people who chose to live and put their house on that little wave break tiny island. What did they think was going to happen if a hurricane occurred???? They chose to bet the farm on some cheap rent where nobody else was stupid enough to live. Sorry.
I am watching this from Plymouth in the UK. I feel so sad that this has happened to you over there. I pray you are safe. In the UK we don't get anything like you have. It must of been terrifying to go through this storm. So sad the place look's like a bomb has gone off, bless you all and stay safe.

Would appreciate more than just an overview from the reporters and that one reporter who sang oh my God that's not reporting that's reacting and we all feel that way right now reporting would be information not emotionalizing please go a little deeper especially for those of us who don't live in Florida
I guess people never learn to not build on a barrier island on the Gulf Coast. Boliver Peninsula in Texas got wiped clean except for one house during hurricane Ike. A number of people died because they were going to "ride it out".
And it's just the beginning of the last time. Many people refused God's Law. Vatican's pope still bow down and speak to statues 🙂 of Fatima, instead of praying to Lord Jesus Christ.
