Navigating Self-Care & Trauma, Plus Smoke Ready – October Windsor Ready! Talk

Emergency situations and the uncertainty of not knowing when normalcy will return, can impact mental health—especially during repeated situations, like wildfires, power outages, or personal emergencies. This recording will help you better understand self-care techniques that can be used during emergencies and how to protect yourself from wildfire smoke.

Jenny Harrow-Keeler with Integrative Healers Action Network explained how to recognize and manage trigger points and PTSD, and provided practical steps to manage anxiety, stay connected, and maintain well-being. Diana Borges with Windsor COPE/Professional Geologist explained what the air quality levels (air quality index chart) means, how to interpret air quality readings, and practical tips on how to protect yourself and home from smoke.

This talk was part of the Windsor Ready! Talk Series, which are free, interactive monthly talks for Sonoma County. This series is facilitated by Windsor COPE, in partnership with the Town of Windsor. For August, September, and October, we partnered with Windsor Library, with talks held at the library. Please email [email protected] with questions.
