People who made guides for these games (and still do!) are saints and deserve to be protected.
"Batteries used to be powered with human souls" is the plot of a Weird West novel my wife stopped writing about five or seven years ago. Thank you for reminding me of it and now I'm sad she didn't finish.
1:15 So that's why all the Techpriests are on about Machine-Spirits. As an IT person, this had always confused me, but apparently we have fancy soul gems all over the place.
2:04 Bamboo is a crazy material. Like loofahs, they're reason for being what they are confounds me.
6:49 It occurs to me that I don't think I ever skipped. At least unless I was actively making fun of skipping.
8:14 I love that Emmons refused to say it. I also just noticed the game is listed as FF16, and I'm not sure which is funnier.
10:17 My favourite character anim so far was Yae's run, because even though it's not rendered, her left hand is where it would be to stabilize her sword.
13:13 Huh… well, I guess I have to axe Dragonball as having the weirdest names I've seen.
15:02 Oh wow, our first torii gate.
22:22 I legit thought that was the game. Like the kami was snoring.
22:23 "God of Money"… Inari?
27:32 The dog I interact with most talks in bursts. She'll talk nonstop for like an hour, but only about once a week. Greyhounds are dorks.
so batteries are like soul coins
💙
I was looking up nihilist when you said someone probably looked it up
For days now, I've been trying to recall the name of the side-scrolling game from back on the SNES or Sega that this reminds me of, and the only thing that comes to mind is Kid Dracula in the colour palette of Ape Escape.
Please beat this game. Also talj to alllll npcs
"I feel like we're about to walk into a whole thing"
Let's be honest, what part if this game is NOT a whole thing?
Yae's comparative hyper-competence had her set as my default character for a long time.
"Batteries are powered by souls" is unironically the twist of Darling in the Franxxx, and I hate it. Their giant robots run on magma energy, but the magma is actually ghosts.
Is it 1 human soul per AA battery, or is one soul divided up across the whole pack?
I realize this episode was most likely edited weeks ago but, near the beginning, Editor Carrie flashed onscreen with a punny comment ending in "amirite?!" and just yesterday I made a comment on the previous episode saying that I was surprised she didn't do that exact thing.
It's a little eerie!
8:34 "You'll throw a rock, and you will hit a coffee shop, and it'll bounce and then hit another coffee shop."
So…Starbucks?
I love the channel keep up the great work two I love your early days of extra credits I watched the Bismarck series on the extra credits I watched all the time it was so good to watch😍😍🥰🥰🥰
"skipping angerly" sounds like a funny image tho
If you guys are enjoying this, you should definitely check out Goemon's Great Adventure. It's every bit as zany AND it's got co-op!
"Batteries used to be powered by human souls" Dan perfectly explains the central conflict in FMAB in less than ten words.
I find it weird how ancient Japan has so many coffey shops. Isn't coffee from the americas??
But then, I guess this is translated for a north American audience and USA probably did not have tea back in the .. 80?, when this came out.
Soo many pokeballs..
The understated reactions to absurdity and the yes-anding as the Dans bounce off each other makes this playthrough really fun.
