  1. The OP stayed with that idiot that long? The idiotic saying 'I have to endure for the sake of the children' is ridiculous. Children would rather live happy with one parent, than miserable with two. Also, the abuse and endurance. displayed by the parents, are not good things to teach your children. No children should grow up learning that it's OK to endure the abuse. Teach your kids that at the first sign of control, abuse (verbal or physical), insulting and diminishing one's confidence is the time to leave/run.
