It’s been over a week now since Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth came out. After a week full of 12 hour streams, I’ve managed to beat the story and experience a good chunk of what the game has to offer, so today we’ll be going over my overall thoughts of the game in as much detail as I currently can go through! Also, I’d like to apologize to all Hannya members for the lack of a shout-out at the end of this video, but ever since the last subathon, we’ve had TONS of new members that were gifted, so we’d be at over 400+ names where half of the members were that thanks to the generosity of a few people. I hope you understand and thank you so much for watching!

  1. i have some thoughts about the character of ei-chan and his particular arc but i guess this is the comments section for the spoiler free opinions. i thought there was some interesting parallel there with an emotional throughline from the first like a dragon, but with much less personal stakes for ichiban this time. i just dont know if it was executed as well as i might have wanted. all the other QOL and content stuff in this game is phenomenal caveats aside. i do like that with this and the judgement games they are flexing a little bit more with some interpersonal character drama that is less mythological in scale

  2. Just finished it, fantastic game! NG+ issue aside, my other gripe was some of the pacing in the story towards the last 2 chapters. IW truly is the Lost Judgment, the combat, content in IW is superior to 7 but 7 has the better story. 9/10 game for sure!

  3. Sofar i really like the gameplay and everything but i just cant get over some of the insanely bad writing sofar.
Im in chapter 6 sofar and i feel like the writers are having a competition on how to embarrass ichi as much as possible or something.

    Spoilers:

The Saeko ghosting ichi for 1 year after everything they have been through is bad enough but what chitose does to ichi is just irredeemable and there is no coming back from that.
She decided to drug a sympathetic stranger and the son of her client that she β€œcares so much about” and strip him naked, rob him of all his possessions to get him thrown into jail in a foreign country for the rest of his life. Like what are these people even writing here? She doesn't feel sorry about it and sofar she hasnt apologized for it either. She just says she feels a little bad about it LMAO and ichi is like ye sure lets be friends. The man could have rotten away in prison for life in a bad scenario and she wouldn't give 2 f** about it. I mean a little later she tries to betray them all again.

Its so weird seeing Ichi just being all friendly with her like nothing happened when you got this in the back of your head. I hope the writing gets better but im not holding my breath.
I played all the yakuza games sofar and love them all but this has to be the one where the writing takes a nosedive.
Not sure if they got new writers or something but some if the character writing is so off in this game.

  4. After 68 hours (in-game save playtime number) I finally completed the story fully (I did a lot of side grinding) and hoo boy, was that worth the obscene price of the highest edition.

  5. Quick question about skill inheritance though, Does it only let you pick moves unlocked past level 1? They moved the peppermill attack to level 1 and I want it permanently as it became a running joke with my friends and I.

  6. stat boosters in this game are heavily nerfed compared to yakuza 7. You will find a lot of cases to open, but the rate for boosters to appear is MUCH MUCH lesser than Yakuza 7. It actually punish you really hard in the post game, because now you wont have any "easy" way to farm for stat, to make the post dungeon easier.

And about the point you mention about they put Legend difficulty in new game plus, just a point i want to add: there is an achievement in this game that require you to beat the game in legend difficulty. So now you have to pay 20 bucks just to be able to do an achievement? completely absurd. Thanks for pointing that out. LOL

  7. I feel like they missed an opportunity with the Memoirs of the Dragon and the Bucket List. They could have made it so at the start of the game Kiryu is a monster and made the combat easier and faster then constantly get a little weaker and weaker till when he gets back to Japan when he is at the same level as the other party members. And then by doing the Memoirs of the Dragon and Bucket List he gets back his strength as he is getting back his will to live.

  8. I'm only just finishing chapter 4 so I haven't even unlocked the whole game yet but so far I like it so much better than 7, and I liked 7 a lot… everything feels better, combat, the substories are really fun, I absolutely love the humor, it's such a goofy game and kasuga is the perfect honorable fool character…one gripe I will say is I wish they expanded the roster further with a whole new party, instead of only a few

  9. Tbh Im.1/3 thru the game the writing is bad but the story is v good the turn based ain't bad but it reminded me why I prefer beat em up it just still feels so off with the turn based in a Yakuza game even if they do it differently

  10. Am on chapter 10 and I love this game. I do understand the NG issue and agree however do I think the game is worth it? Absolutely. I do hate the paywall however they have produced an outstanding game. The last time I enjoyed a game this much was Like A Dragon.

  11. Last boss was pretty good i feel. And the track playing to it with the dynamic intro is eargasm as well as awesome as always. Though i personally didnt find the boss battles all that challenging or interesting mostly.

  12. I beat the game today and I loved it all, but the story towards the end had a lot of things like unsaid, inconsistent writing. That's what really bothered me now. It'll be too long to type it all out though. Otherwise, I had a blast with the game. Honestly don't know what they can possibly do next after the events of this game, but I will be happy for the next game

  13. This is the best turn based combat I've ever experienced. It's not even particularly close.

RGG took everything wonderful about Seven's combat and dialed it up to eleven.

The story may be lacking in some ways, but the wonderful exploration, fantastic characters, and brilliant combat make this a must play for any RPG fan.

  14. I really hope Judgment 3 is RGG's next game. I don't care if the protagonist is Yagami, Kaito or even a new original detective, i just want that franchise to continue!

  15. The fact you couldn't move in LAD7 just felt incorrect, for how much of specific movesets depend on positioning.

I think (at least storywise) the combat was easy enough to not worry about this it's just an insane omission.

  16. the recruiting enemies thing reminds me of shin megami tensei. they thought of everything the fight system is octopath/ xenoblades idk this game is crazy. for someone that plays everything this is everything like nier automata was everything you know what i mean? its a must have for real.

  17. I have a critisism of yakuza infinite wealth…. I hate some of it's story…. I've seen youtube scandals before and it's not pretty escpecially false informational ones.

  18. Aside from the scummy DLC practices, Infinite Wealth feels like the closest you can get to crafting my personal ideal JRPG. It feels like it ticks every single box for what I would want. I haven't finished the story yet but this is looking like it could enter my top 5 games of all time. Also Seonhee's banter in the party chat and table talks made me love her so much more, best girl for sure lol.
